f*** me I was overjoyed when Spurs won the league cup, I bet half the Chelsea fans didnt feel half as happy as they dont have a connection with the club and watched them when they were shit.

I know exactly what you mean. As you know I was a chelsea fan all my life but as soon as I knew I could afford to only go to about 2 games a year and felt pretty much nothing at having bought the league I realise it was over for me.

I think the difference was, not being a Liverpool, Man Utd or Arsenal fan I didn't feel it was my god given right to win the league so the win it at any cost mentality didn't sit easy with me.

...and I bet the joy that Boro fans had when they win the league and geordies when finally Newcastle finally win something and when we won at Cardiff is at a level that Man U/Liverpool and Arsenal fans will never ever reach.

I say f*** 'em. Fair play to Spurs fans and any fan of a club that are regarded as also rans. When our clubs are successful it means so much more and I wouldn't swap being a Gooner or Manc or Liverpool fan with their 30 or 40 cups and leagues for supporting Brighton a lifetime and us lifting just one piece of silverware.

Newcastle and Man City average more than Spurs and are in the same league. When Sunderland were in the Premiership they averaged more than Spurs. You can bet your bottom dollar that if Spurs were relegated they would be getting crowds comparable with Leeds and Sunderland.

There is a top 4 or 5 with Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and possibly Newcastle and then there is a second tier with Spurs, Everton, Villa, Man City heading that. It's a sad truth for Spurs fans but they ain't as big as Arsenal and probably never will be in the future.

Agree with most of your second paragraph, do not agree with the first. Spurs have maintained about 98% of capacity, despite a relative lack of success. The real point, IMO, is the desperate need for WHL to be enlarged. If the ground were bigger, so would the attendances be higher (in much the same vein as Ashburton Grove attracts 60,000 while Highbury could only hold 38,000).

I think this table is more accurate as it shows the percentage of the ground that is full;

Indeed, well maybe a little bit of the silver would be nice!

Do attendances mean anything? Bigger is not necessarily better.

Mansfield could win the Prem 10 years on the spin, but will they play in front of 40,000? No.

Fact is, Spurs haven't won anything of note since Abraham was a lad :ohmy:
