Its over, No more snuggles

I don't love Chelsea, I gave them up for another. I don't even hate Spurs, not now their fans know they are not a big side.

You will be back.

And just to add a bit of perspective, even after last night Spurs STILL have more European silverware than the Arse.

yeah but no but not much comfort to me if I were a Spurs fan. Bolton and Huddersfield have won the FA Cup and League loads of times but unless it's in recent years it's all just history isn't it?

Hmm....by that standard the Arse have a 60,000 stadium, pots of money, possibly the best striker in Europe and have failed to win anything in Europe for 13 years...

But then the Spuds have won nothing in Europe since the UEFA Cup in the early 80's.

Once again, don't tell Spurs fans this. They are still a big club.

What is the delusion of grandeur of which you speak. Spurs are and always will be twice the size of nouveau riche but chavtastic 7000 at home for a Premiership game Chelsea.

Class is permanent.

Man Utd went for about 30 years without winning the league until 1992 or whatever. Does that mean they weren't a big club in that time then?

When was this Chelsea game in the Prem when only 7,000 turned up? I'm surprised I missed that, you'd think more would have been made of it?

That was amusing more than anything.

The reality with the English game now is that Spurs are unlikely to win the league in the foresable future, still it will give the moaning maggots at the Lane something else to complain about.

When Blackburn won the league did that make them a big club then?

Spurs are always in that middle ground, similar to clubs like Villa or Everton. Not quite a big club but on the cusp. Spurs fans think they are bigger than this, like they have a right to win things. Well they used to anyway.

It appears your problem with Chelsea is they aren't one of the accepted elite.

7,300 for Southampton in 1993, sandwiched between home games against Spurs and Man Utd.

I think they had been promoted not long before - again, in front of 7,000 crowds.

As recently as the 80s, the big 5 were Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and Man Utd. You are right though, Spurs fans moaned through the '90s because they weren't competing with three of those clubs, while they were overtaken on the pitch by Blackburn, Leeds, and even Newcastle. However, to their credit, their fans have always turned up in huge numbers - they still sell out every home league game and that has pretty much been the case since 1990. None of this armchair Newcastle/Chelsea/Leeds bollocks. They've always been there. At the ground. And that is why Spurs are a big club.

It appears my problem with Chelsea is that they are bunch of chavvy two bob twats whose fans didn't bother turning up when they were shit. Even as recently as the mid 90s, Chelsea were getting 12-13,000 for Premiership games even when they were mid table.
