The judges in the ECHR have stopped deportation for people who won their case. There are 47 judges, one from each member state, and a president
Boris Johnson’s maternal grandfather was a judge in the ECHR for 20 years, 10 of which he was president.

It is nothing to do with the EU, as it was formed before the EU was even formed.
But I suppose the issue is that the British courts authorized the deportation originally only to be overturned by the ECHR?

I’m from a migrant family, feel free to deport me. Sorry for taking your jobs etc
My gran was slovakian and my grandad was polish (although his town is now in Ukraine) they were given safe haven here in the early 1940s. My dad was born in 1945 and brought up in Brighton before serving a full career as a naval officer and then when he retired at 55 he worked a further 15 years leading emergency response for local authorities so he also ROBBED the state and never had a productive private sector job

Deport me too.

"Two (Labour) backbenchers broke ranks to suggest the Prime Minister must be prepared to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) in order to get a grip on Channel crossings and tackle the threat of Nigel Farage's Reform UK."

You don't actually give a link to the Telegraph article you have quoted where they name one MP and then add 'another' unnamed MP in true Telegraph style.

You should really give links to quotes that you post, you wouldn't want it to look like trolling

Just out of interest, if Jeremy Corbyn had said that he was interested in going back to the time befroe Margaret Thatcher had been PM, would there be strings of people on here mocking him and suggesting that everything in the fifties was bad? :)
I would.
Corbyn is a prat.
Only after he resigned did I rejoin the party.

Indeed. Even when not trolling (and I am certain you are not),
one can look like one is trolling by being insufficiently attentive to board etiquette.
These things are important, @TomandJerry.

That aside, your approach of repeatedly attempting to destroy a hypothesis and repeatedly failing
is the hallmark of good scientific method.
At some point you will be compelled by the facts to abandon* the hypothesis.
Welcome to my world (of work - the research 'wing' of it, anyway, I do other stuff too).

*Don't forget about the last bit. It has to be acknowledged.
Bad science is when people find their ideas don't fit, then wander off onto something else like a gadfly,
leaving their previous investigations like an abandoned car crash, clogging the information highway.

I'm an immigrant, do I have to come back?

I am also an Australian citizen, so if I come back does that make me an immigrant again?

Do I bring the family, they are all Aussie born?

Somewhere in the middle east I suppose.

Should I become a Muslim?

If you're white, you'll be all right.

If we follow the narrative from the right, yes - cultural assimilation as an immigrant is vital. Unless you're Richard Tice and Elzabeth Oakshott, who live in Dubai.

Maybe if I try really hard to like the Australian cricket team I can stay?

Seriously though, it's hard to culturally assimilate in a place with no culture 😂

Thanks for the input - I am trying, I have posted links to previous sources, sometimes the Telegraph seem to hide behind a paywall which makes it a pain to read the article.

Absolutely, I'm trying not to come across as trolling - because I'm really not.

Thanks for the input
