For all those people who are desperate to brand Reform UK as racist - how do you explain their chairman then?
“How can I be racist, the chairman of my preferred political party isn’t white?”

The political left.
Can you cite examples where “the political left” have told us that only white people can be racist?

A Reform budget would be frighteningly comical. Lower taxes because we deserve it, extra generous to OAP’s, generally a licence for tax evaders, scraping the NHS as it will be replaced by a German style insurance, a new found interest in nationalising key industries, taking £50b from benefits lead swingers, a £20k personal allowance.

Part paid for by a thriving economy from a second Brexit Bonus.

Well what a sad state of affairs. Keir has totally screwed the country over and always been massively out of his depth, what did we really expect would happen? I do not know any Labour supporters now, including myself. Out with Starmer, Reeves and Rayner now.

NHS improving and other good signs . Media won’t report this but have a little dig about and it’s there

I am not sure who will be staffing the nhs.

About a fifth of NHS staff are immigrants. A third of London doctors are immigrants. For specialist practitioners we are nudging closer to 50%.

Are those immigrants okay?

Care home staff - a fifth are immigrants and would count as low skilled so fail the immigration rules proposed by reform.

How will the hospitality industry survive without low skilled immigrants?

Genuinely interested.

Tbf there was an argument among the American Left that White people couldn't face racism. It was because they would only see racism at a structural level and not recognising at a personal level. It was an extreme position to make an argument over discrimination faced by minorities .

IR35 successfully prevents widespread tax avoidance that otherwise would deprive the public purse of much needed funds. Contracting can be a ruse that started from the 90’s onwards …. staff and bosses who were to all intents employees, in collusion with businesses, pretending to be businesses but without taking entrepreneurial risk, having any genuine prospect of making a loss, of being sued.

Without it there would be a wild west where millions of workers would get no rights and the public purse would be cheated of vast sums in national insurance.
Exactly. Populist nonsense from a party with no experience of governing or managing anything. Not fit to run a bath.

You are having a laugh? Tories asset strip the UK for 14 f***ing years but Starmer is the one screwing us over after not even a year in the job?

Some people really do believe the absolute biggest bullshit imaginable and I don’t even like Labour.

Dear boy.
Make yourself an Ovaltine and put your feet up.
Who knows? Tomorrow you may find you know yourself again.
Think of the joy!

Why was that?

no really.

Because that’s the way the local elections fell this time around, last year was a more Labour orientated year taking in a lot of big urban areas (including London)
I think @Giraffe was probably making a sly dig at some of the council elections being postponed - because they are the only ones the government have affected. Nine were postponed because of upcoming re-organisation. However, only one of those was a Labour council, most of the rest were Conservatives, and one LD minority.

And the final council results are in...

Reform take control of West Northamptonshire from Conservatives
Lovely part of the world.
I was chased on my bike by a white road rage oaf in some souped up car when we lived in Northampton.
We couldn't get out of there fast enough.
(although I drove at sensible speeds and didn't try to ram anyone off the road, while making our exit).
