I have seen him play.
I wouldn't say the defences in this league are tin pot either.

So all you need is pace in this division is it? It never stopped shearer after he hit 30 yeras old!

He's never going to be rapid...not at 32...but speed for me isnt all that important...being able to know where the goal is...he's handy with his head and everytime ive seen him..he's looked the part..scored goals at every club and bagged a load at the back end....of the season.

Constantine proved last year that anyone playing for any monkey outfit can score for fun....25+...and I dont even rate the guy.......

Bas savage is hardly the best striker in the land and he was banging them in.....the defences are not up to much...there are good defenders in this division..but overall any thing outside the championship and its mistakes left right and centre

sadly, if DK thinks we can stay up without spending the £125k, or £25k he'll keep the money for the Falmer Fund

I agree..but this money that is being branded around for forster is the same as it was in Jan and I dont believe he will cost that much...when we were linked with burgess who went to blackpool....the figure was half what we were apparently quoted to have offered!

Forster is more likely to cost around 50k - 75k and will score for fun in this league provising he gets the service...If we were in the championship..id have my doubts,......but league 1..would be good for him and us goals wise...you just know it

But Bas didn't do it for Gillingham against the same defences though did he?
He banged them in for us because he gelled with the team and Wilkins coaching suited him.

Savage's record isnt one of a striker who has bang them in at this level.

Your missing the point....I used him as an example of a poor forward who scored goals at this level against poor defenders.....put savage in the championship and see what he does...

Your opinion is that Forster is too slow and not worth the money.....I'm not sure how you have come to have this opinion....he's scored lots of goals at every club....32 is not old for a striker and the amount quoted for a striker of his exp and ability is reasonable..due to the fact his record speaks for itself....its like buying a decent car that has a proven car service history and a good name in the industry..things may go wrong with it..but it will keep going producing the results!

As I said before at this level he would be a very good signing..

Would be a great signing for us.Windass is 38 and has signed for Hull so i don't reckon age is much of a problem if you haven't lost it

I agree, Im not sure pace is eveything thing in a striker, Harwood is very quick and also very shit - The same cant be said of Sheringham or a few others

Good example.....the guy is a proper pro....and scored all over the show for bradford..granted it didnt do them much good...but if your good enough then you young enough...

I'd settle for a front paring of forster and sherringham...with revell sitting in front of our new midfield of hammond and ray parlour

I agree with you.

And you think Mayo is a good player... yet more evidence of your failure to be able to judge a good player...

Forster has consistently played well against us... what games were you watching?

I think if we get permision for falmer in 16 days then he will sign once he knows we are going somewhere! Come on Nicky! You know you want too!!
Let me see mmmmmmmmm, our high exspectations with a super stadium is to sign a player who is not far away from being a paul kitson:shrug:

Severe lack of ambition on this site, the real problem is lack of funds from the chairman, lets be seriously honest here,we all know its all about money and not a shite stadium:rolleyes:

People on here have been moaning for the last 2 years that we haven't signed a proven goalscorer and when it looks like we might the moaners come out of the woodwork again

I joined yesterday - U PILLOCK

Your understanding of grammer is obviously as good as your spelling otherwise you'd have realised that nowhere in that sentence did I say that YOU had been moaning for years. I simply stated that NOW the moaners are coming out of the woodwork.

And to start name calling after only joining a day ago - nice work!
