Personaly the best badge I've seen, including the official ones, was the one designed by someone on here & posted several months back. If the fans were given a vote between that & the new badge I'm pretty sure which would come out on top ....probably by some distance.

Actually does someone have access to the posting sometime back of the design by a NSCer, so that we could do a comparison?

Oh go on then. Here are a few of the shorts that could be ours, but I'm not bothering with the socks!!

Mine too, I thought it was quite literally perfect, hints of the past with a decidedly modern twist. (if I were in charge, I'd have hired him and used his design)

They are just standard template kits you can buy personally, we do bespoke kits so it won't be any of those (a shame, because the blue/white stripey top is much better than what we have right now, another improvement you'd see with me in charge)

The new kit will not look like those 'template' kits.

As for the new badge, I think they have listened hard to fans opinion, and come up with one that pays homGe to the old one, but is a little more modern I'n look, and while the font is a little predictable, at least it's not
Micrograma/Eurostyle which is very old and not at all retro. I think also there is the issue of brand protection/copyright which can now be applied to the badge, which may have beneficial ramifications to the club in the future.

All I'd like to see is stripes on the back, no number patch. It's not a reflgulation In this country, not by the FA, FL, Uefa or FIFA, so come on, stripes on the back and front please.

Can we f*** off with the blank back/shield/gap/non-stripe business?

I can just about cope without that on the players shirts, but it looks utter gash on the supporters shirts. I don't buy shirts, but it does look ridiculous. Surely not too diffiuclt to produce some player shirts with a patch for the number, but produce a different line for supporters - maybe a choice if they wish to have a name and number on the back.

Don't need a patch on any of them, players or fans, let's just have stripes and use the FL approved numbers the same as several other teams in the league ( including Premier League)

Good! Good! Let's hope they see sense.

I remember Insider mentioned that the players were consulted as to what the shirt should look like. They wear it twice a week max and only through necessity..! :wozza:

Insider also once said that they felt that fans prefered the shirt to have a blank panel on the back for the number, I think that he is wrong on this.

I've seen the new home kit and it's VERY similar to the one that was worn in the one off game celebrating 10 years since the last game at the goldstone. The back is almost shield like. Oh and the badge is on the middle of the shirt instead of the breast.

I agree although why can't they offer the choice of both?

The new home kit btw will be not dissimilar in look to the iconic 1979 strip as shown in the Peter Ward mosaic picture.

Cost.

Although the kits are made by a number of manufacturers, the actual stripes (including those on stripes Premier League shirts) come from a single factory in China.

Stripes are sold by the metre and it would require at least an extra metre to account for the loss of the back panel on a consumer version.

Out of interest, how come you've seen next seasons shirt, are you certain it is the next shirt, not a decoy or a prototype, and assuming you have seen the correct one, are you not under any request not to divulge details?

Just a question you understand, if you have seen it then yes, I am jealous, I would love to have seen it already.
