Fair enough, a useful visual aid.

Make me slightly depressed though to see that at this time last year we had brought in Kusz, Bridge, Bruno, Vicente (again) and Crofts (again).

Look at this year's signings so far and it seems either we have a significantly lower budget, or are going to spend SHITLOADS in the last couple of weeks.

Bridge is a miss, bruno will be a miss this year as i think he will spend a lot of time injured unfortunately.

Vicente never played so dont really miss him, crofts shadow of his former self with ince seemingly preferred to him.

So from last years starting 11 excluding injuries who have we lost?

Hammond replaced by kemy agstein / keith andrews
Bridge replaced by chickensen

So we are weaker at left back but the same or stronger everywhere else with two weeks to get a left back and a striker.

seems all good ro me.

Our wages bill last year was 14m for all staff at the club. To sign Wayne Bridge would have cost us 1m+ in wages a year. That is a big chunk of the budget gone on one player.

not really. To sign a decent left back and pay his wages would be more expensive than getting in Bridge on a free and giving him a decent wage. A decent left back is going to cost around £1m to £1.5m and then his wages. unless we do a deal with a loan player.

Wouldn't it be nice if we actually got some of the rumoured players we were interested in!

Such as:

Canella at LB
Hibbert at RB
Canas as an attacking midfielder
and Becchio

That'll do!

I'd be delighted with just one of those at this point!

@noeliadeniz: @Keiranmiles nice! No, I have no news. All I know is that he'd like another Spanish player in the squad. This weekend #BHAFC won't fail!

Then at the end of that year, the Bridge option leaves you with nothing for your £1.5m. The other option, if you've chosen well, leaves you with a valuable asset.

Vaz Te to Forest, Sharp to Sheff Wed both players that could do a job here, time we got involved before anyone decent are all gone

Vaz Te? Blimey, Forest have strengthened some haven't they. Even despite losing McGugan their squad looks much stronger.

And that included the FLAIREST left back in the entire division, bar none.

Hoping for some cloak and dagger signings as soon as possible. There is a need for a pacey winger/striker and a full-back or two.

I agree with that myself, An experienced left back and a fast player who can play across the front are both needed asap. Depending how long Orlandi is going to be out for we might end up needing a playmaker in midfield for a while as well, We've got the basis of a good squad but we just need the final pieces of the jigsaw to see us push on now.

I was thinking(yes I was) this the other day that clubs must be signing on the last day of transfer window to save millions in wages, if we signed 4 players on deadline day all with wages of £15,000 a week as opposed to signing them 2 weeks ago we'd have saved £250,000 roughly in a month
Only problem is it could cost you valuable points at the start of the season and then playing catch up

But how valuable are those points when 129 will still be up for grabs.
Not to mention the 'bonus' of points scored in August (for everyone else, obviously)

I think most clubs would rather have the player in early. The last minute rush is more down to the players/agents trying to get the best deal possible I would have thought.

Vaz Te hasn't gone anywhere yet, neither has Billy Sharp. Just rumours at current, no need to panic.

Typical Ernest scaremongering.
