& how do you think TB is worth £750m more than you?

Three things. First, what has your question got to do with the opinions I put forward? Next, how do you know what Tony Bloom is 'worth'? And lastly, can you tell me how much money I have in savings, investments and business equity?

Looking at that map......does the hotel cut into Bennett's field? If so we give that back at the end of this season don't we?

Wasn't it part of the planning permission that this area is temporary and has to be given back?

I wonder what occupancy levels they need to maintain to make money? It will attract more conferences and one-off events I guess, but beyond that it would be very risky to expect a decent occupancy level other than near match days. Oh well, I am sure they know what they are doing.

The fact it's next to the stadium won't fill it, the fact it's next to 2 unis and Brighton is so expensive to stay in weekends will mean it will turn a profit. Also the halls will make money, the nightclub deffo will given location........... what next? Will we invest in a farm to grow food or a sodding casino. Soon we'll own a tourist agent and estate agent, row of shops etc. Any way to make the club a business. Gym is surely the thing that's not needed though?

It could get a steady stream of business from parents wanting to visit their uni student sons/daughters for the weekend

I have no doubt the hotel will be a success. There isn't enough hotel capacity in Brighton.

However, I'm not convinced that the hotel, car park and student accommodation are going to make significant in roads into the financial security of the Albion.

I'm also more than a little concerned that we are going back on our word when it comes to the increased development of the site. I'm sure someone at the club will say we never made any commitment either way, but I do recall that when such protestations were put to us - and I mean supporters - we all said "no no no."

The Amex holds plenty of conferences and other functions during the year and this would provide accommodation for people attending those as well as footie fans wanting to stay in the area overnight.

It also goes against the grain of what the club suggested when it was pleading its case with local residents. Poor show.

I have to admit it doesn't sit comfortably with me. All those years of campaigning and saying there were no plans for anything other than a stadium to the opponents of it and now we're made to look like liars. I know the club need to generate revenue but surely if they appear to be liars it's going to get very difficult for them to get permission for other things in the future ?

Would increase the viability of the Amex as a conference venue Shirley? Excellent conference facilities AND accommodation nearby.

Think of events like the JoHo's every year - where do they stay at the moment?

Amex Christmas parties would also build up a bit of business and there is no secret as to why the club would want it up and running for the Rugby World Cup.

Is £55m the cost of the car park season ticket?

We shouldn't be looking to securing our financial future! We should be spunking money on players so I can get a name printed on my shirt and make up a new chant!¬!!111

It was always going to happen. I can't believe how surprised some of you are. If you have problems getting planning permission for what you want, try to get it for something smaller and slap in size increases after the first development is finished, it's classic long term strategy that has been going on for decades. When the idea of a learning centre fell through it was always going to be replaced by something later on, I think it was mentioned at the time, and the obvious way to get a multi-story car park is to put accommodation in with it for people that won't be too fussy, IE students. Well done the club.

If they are going to develop the bridge car park they need to sort access out cos that poxy little tunnel just won't be good enough.

got to say I agree with you, sir. Getting a bit big for our boots methinks. If we have aspirations of to be a prem club, let's sort thing out on the pitch first.
