my crewe review

do you find it strange that everyone was at a different game to you today LI?

Well, if you think everyone agrees with you, you'll be confident in taking the bet then. Come on, back it up - as low a stake as you like.

Mayo is injured apparently. Agree with other posts carpenter and oatway were terrible. Sebastien Carole WAS superb

That's not going to wash and you know it :lolol: Come on, make the bet.

i've already answered that

i believe carpenter should be dropped and have hammond in the middle

its not up to me who plays so it'd be a stupid bet to make wouldn't it?

i'm confident mcghee plays what he thinks is our best team and therefore i'm happy with his decison

however, TODAY, those two were poor

EXACTLY - you know Oatway and Carpenter will start next week in Hull. I share your confidence :lolol:

With MM strange view on tactics and who is ready to play league football you know you are right L.I.

But explain one thing to me why does MM keep banging on about Jakes size? He is and plays bigger than Leon Knight and if you look carefully he is bigger than Carole and Nicholas.

Are you aware that we controlled the vast majority of the game from midfield. Who do you think was responsible for that?

Take your effing blinkers and rose coloured specs off LI.

Carpenter and Oatway were poor today , especially in the second half. Even in the first half, attacks broke down when the ball was given to CO, Chippy is just out of his depth!!!

I thought McShane missed the centre forward for the second goal, but apart from that looked very good.

Fact was Crewe's subs were far better than ours!

Its going to be a long season!

i've never argued that though have i?

all i've said was that they were poor today, which they were

personally, if i was manager i'd drop one of them, but i'm not am i, and thankfully, neither are you

The Jake debate is a very difficult one. He can only play in place of Leon, CKR and Carole. Who would you drop out of those 3, who all did well today? I feel Jake has to wait and bide his time, it will come if the results don't come our away. But at the moment, the other 3 are ahead of him, even El Turi too, although it's close.

MM is banging on about jakes size because he HAS to be able to defend oppositions set pieces/free kicks etc. I think MM is right he is not quite ready. He is great going forward but has to learn the other roles within the team

Yeah, I agree 100% with that :lolol:

You see, I have complete confidence that McGhee will ACCURATELY judge the performance of the central midfielders today

Turo is obviously not used to playing this style of footy and I think it will take time with him.

CKR received poor distribution todaybut have 100%, although I thought Charlie Caroly looked class.

I am sure its Leon's brother:lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

On today's team selection
Charlie Oateway leaving four in the midfield witH Jake up along side CKR

For an away game that would leave a very lightweight 4-4-2 formation with both Carole and Knight having to play heavy roles as midfield defenders. I can't see it.

I think McGhee will start with the same team that did well today, but he will put his thinking cap on about how best to refresh that line-up on 60/70 mins - which is where our problems started today.

if our next game was at home then dropping oatway/carpenter/both would be advisory

however, due to their determination they are better suited for away games

No...our problems started when Crewe brought on better players.

When they switched to three up front, they looked like they could score every time they attacked

carpenter was shocking today - when he lost the ball, then proceeded to chase after his man before pulling him back and giving away a free-kick was ridiculous

however, i thought oatway wasn't too bad, and would keep him in

Tommy Boy - if you thought they played so terrible today "a bit shit", presumably one of them will be dropped for Hull. How about a little bet then, both play I win, one of them got dropped, you win. Fancy it?

LI, are you going to 'Ull?

If yes, can you bite the bullet and sit next to me, so that we can watch the game together and I can get an insight into the game, as seen through your eyes, and you can talk me through the game as it pans out and the job that your lovechild is doing........just a thought

I think you're overplaying a very good 10-minute period they had Dave. I thought we did well to dig deep and finish the stronger team - if the game had gone on another five or ten minutes, I'd have backed us to win.
