Reading the Argus website, there is a small article about Glenn saying how he's enjoying his football again and is inspired by the arrival of Poyet etc etc. But at the end, it says in today's edition of the Argus he talks about his "clash" with Albion fans. I'm assuming they mean Brentford? Could someone post the jist of the article up here seeing as I'm not based in Bton?

Albion striker on a high after series of lows

Glenn Murray returns to lead the Albion attack against Leeds tomorrow with his reputation as one of the best strikers in League One firmly restored.
Murray goes into a shoot-out with former Carlisle colleague Jermaine Beckford, rejuvenated by a return to fitness and goalscoring form and the arrival of Gus Poyet as manager.
He is suddenly a far cry from the rather forlorn figure who handed in two transfer requests and suffered two double hernia operations, not to mention a brush with fans and a costly red card which incurred the wrath of Poyet’s predecessor.
Poyet spoke glowingly in The Argus earlier this week about Murray’s attributes following his two-goal starring role at Southampton last Sunday.
He insists the Cumbrian is here to stay and regards Murray as so important to Albion’s chances of victory against Leeds that he was left out of the FA Cup replay against Wycombe on Wednesday, to avoid the risk of a fifth booking and accompanying suspension.
Murray said: “We’ve all been inspired by what he’s had to say and the sessions he’s put on in the past week.
“My injury problems have been well documented and they have certainly halted me in my tracks.
“I’d never been injured for more than two weeks before I came to Brighton but this year has been a real low point in my career.
“Even now I still feel a bit of pain every now and again, which the doctors have said is just scar tissue and will eventually disappear, but I’m certainly feeling much better about myself.
“Now I just want to return to the form I showed before my problems. If I can get a run in the side I know I can score goals, like I showed at Southampton.
“My confidence is up, which it hasn’t been for some time, and these goals recently have done me a world of good. I’m enjoying my football again.”

Anyone got the paper version - Glenn talks about his clash with Albion fans?

Be good to finally get some closure on the whole thing.

He said not clapping the fans wasn't intentional, but as soon as he started getting abused he "didn't want to clap anyway".

Well Mendoza, do fill us in on what was said!

Murray did not enjoy the incident which kicked his season off on the wrong foot in Albion's first away match at Brentford back in August.

He failed to acknowledge Albion's travelling army after the final whistle, which did not go down well with a small group of supporters when the players re-appeared for the warm down.

"Going off without clapping was not intentional and I certainly did not mean to offend anyone," Murray reflected.

"When I did come back on at the end to shake hands with their keeper, I could hear a few chants aimed in my direction and when one starts you always get a few others jump on board.

"I was being called all the names under the sun and so certainly didn't feel like clapping anyone by then but the whole situation was blown out of proportion."

"I'm not trying to defend my actions that afternoon, but I felt that the reaction was over the top. It was another low point for me but that's the end of it now. From my point of view, it's time for a new beginning."

ps Brighton fans are all *****, the club is shit and I want to go back t'up North where I belong"

He is qaulity but I am sure the plan is to capitalise on the first good bid we get on him in January. In the meantime the spin is that he is happy and fit again. But good luck to him.

So you think Poyet was blatantly lying to us a couple of days ago then?

Murray is saying all the right things, but nothing about wanting to come off the transfer list and stay here, sadly.

edit: admittedly, the club refused his transfer request, but it would be nice if he said he wanted to stay.

Well it would be interesting to know why Poyet is so 1000% convinced that Murray is not going anywhere.

Because him and Bloom don't want to sell him, perhaps? :dunce:

So you assume they are forcing him to stay here against his will?

He sure seems suddenly exceptionally happy for a prisoner... :dunce:
