He's not ill informed though is he, he was just being hyberbolic to deliver some impact on a TV punditry show after a very surprising team sheet. It's how these shows work. Talksport do it in every segment. One presenter says something outlandish to drive maximum reaction. Really think it harsh calling Merson a knobhead. Why? because he said something silly on Soccer Saturday?

To be honest, the only reason he is on tv is because it is I think is a sympathy thing, from friends in places, so he has an income and does not do something stupid.

Id much rather these shows have a Merson type character to bring a bit of hyperbole than 4 identikit mundane pundits that just present vanilla without wanting to upset anyone.
