Brighton have submitted new bid worth £20m plus £5m in add-ons to Shakhtar Donetsk for centre-back Mykola Matviyenko. #BHAFC Shakhtar Donetsk always asked £35m fee for the centre-back. Brighton priority is to add another centre-back before window closes. Talks ongoing.

Don't think they are a particularly reliable source though...

Love the comment from an arsenal fan ‘Shakhtar should bully them like they do other teams and say £35m or nothing’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

that fee keeps going up and up. was €30 million last week, now it's £35M which is over €40M. If we have made that offer, that sounds a fair maximum.

£35M? I thought Shaktar's price was always £20M, and we weren't getting anywhere because we were only offering £16M. £35M sounds like a bit - well, actually qute a lot - of gazumping by Shaktar.

Much as RDZ may want him, I really doubt TB will be stumping up 35 million for a 26 year old. He’s right too

Assume this is not going anywhere then.

Shame if so, I’m not overly worried about making any signings today but wouldn’t have minded bringing in a left sided centre back and like the look of Matvienko with the obvious added attraction of his past with RDZ.
