Yeah, that was AWFUL, wasn't it? We shouldn't have even celebrated!

Shame we never got that elusive target man, he is just what we need right now.

Why not just accept that McGhee gave us some good times and then lost it a bit, get over your bitterness and get a life!!!
Finchley Seagull said:Maybe towards the end he lost the plot a bit but he still achieved a lot with the club and selling our best players did not help. Would anyone have given a second thought if Virgo had been let go during the first half of the play off year. Yet we got £1.5 million for him in the end.
Cocksucker Blue said:It needs to be pointed out to people that they were wrong. People learn from their mistakes. I'm educating people. You'll all be grateful of me.
NMH said:Your points are quite reasonable, except I look at this part and wonder. It's always correct to say that *anything* we achieve is "a lot".
Selling our best players = bad
Selling them for big money = good?
NOT if you still want to see decent football for £20+ every home game (a fair ask for your average fan wouldn't you agree?) NOT unless you bank some of the dosh and replace the missing ££player with someone who can do the job and maintain the similar trajectory in the league.
I know, it's all a bit of a moot subject until we get a stadium and stability - but then how do people make these claims?
What if MM had walked in Knight's office on day one and said "I can attain a competitive and entertaining level with this club, keep the fans happy and basically keep a level that you and the supporters have become used to since you took over the club affairs"?
It's not unreasonable to think that the conversation might have gone along those lines.
Some of....no, MANY of the fans think he had failed, and had lost the plot on how to succeed in getting the above fulfilled. I wouldn't be shocked if DK thought this too.
I think this is only corroborating your opinion Finchley Seagull, but it might also outline the reasons why people feel strongly. MM drew a hard line with players, and was single-minded with tactics (imo, this can be a.k.a. stuck for ideas).
1. He threw players off the bus, and aired his personal foibles about them in public.
2. The public air their views, and he got thrown off the bus.
That all seems very fair!
