Yes indeedy, a case of one stat (Knight's) heavily influencing the other (McGhee's).
:lolol:

Now you have well and truly lost the plot. It's Leon Knight's fault McGhee is so shit. :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

McGhee took a team capable of winning the league and playing attractive football and took us up in the play offs thanks to a LOT of luck.

It was Booker's 4 matches in charge that lost us the momentum, we lost 3 on the trot without scoring. Prior to that we also lost Henderson back to Reading which in hindsight now appears to have been the best foil for Knight up front, and Rodger to his career ending injury, as well as Coppell leaving all in the space of about a fortnight. McGhee came in and stabilised the rot then got us back into the frame. To be honest I didn't think we played very much good football at all over that season either under Coppell or McGhee with certain exceptions.

Must have missed those attractive football games, apart from Rushden and Sheff Weds, we were most unattractive and a bit lucky.

Yes, it was the pattern of the season with certain exceptions. I thought our most complete footballing performance was the home victory over Plymouth, where we out-passed the best team in the division. Just to remind Richie, that was in January.

One of McGhee's biggest mistakes (in hindsight of course) was relying so much for one-and-a-half seasons on a player just not cut out for this level of football.

The truth hurts I'm afraid Silent Bob and you are in for more humiliation with your support for Knight as his Swansea career "progresses".

I never thought he was the correct appointment. More should have been done to keep Coppell.

Yeah right - I know they have offered you huge money, playing budget and stadium but please stay with us stevie , pleeeeeaaase

But do you not think the squad he had in about September had enough in it to stay up?
I thought one of the main criticisms of McGhee by his jaundiced critics was that our squad-building hadn't been good enough this year, left-back, midfield, up front?

This is a typical example of how McGhee's NSC critics want it both ways, the squad wasn't good enough and that's McGhee's fault, oh, and the squad was good enough to keep us up, and that's, you guessed it, also McGhee's fault.

It's all McGhee's fault. Everything.

No, they're not Championship standard either. But with the exception of McCammon, they also don't carry a STINKING attitude with them.

I can't believe we are STILL arguing the toss over Leon feckin' Knight btw. This must be the 94th thread on the subject, and theres clearly nothing new to be said.

The honest answer is that only one of those players are, Guy Butters. But that's the hand McGhee was dealt with by our financial situation, he has never complained about that as I think many other managers would have and he has done his best getting what should be squad players OGH playing to their potential while blooding teenagers like CKR. No other manager could have done better with those players, that is the very essence of why I support McGhee 100%.

He had money in the summer for strikers
Another myth - we had the money to spend out a couple of £100,000 on players with well below average Championship wages, like a Bury teenager and a foreign unknown. That's the small amount of money we had, not money that adequately allows us to buy strikers who can be guaranteed to score goals at Championship level.

But then players were available on free's, so maybe those fee's could have been better used on wage packages.

Also how is it a myth, money changed hands for 2 strikers.

Guy Butters is not Championship standard. Name one other team in this league who he would command such a regular starting place with.

McGhee has his favourite...Butters, Hart, Carpenter etc and they can do no wrong.

Just maybe he considers a bit of experience is essential or should he go down the Hinshelwood route of playing the youth team?

Again I watch a different game to you, I would say Butters is in my running for player of the season. I say that because he has been available all season and unlike McShane, who has been excellent for the most part, has not had two suspensions at critical times.

And how would know if he'd get a regular place in another team or not?

Favourites? They are his most experienced players not favourites, and all those mentioned above have been dropped at one time or another during the season for various reasons.
