Corby. One of the largest towns in Britain without a railway station. And one of the shittiest. Forcibly relocated half of British Steel from Scotland to this shithole then that evil bitch Thatcher closed the steelworks. Only people to benefit are Tennents the brewers whose purple tins do a ROARING trade.

Friend from Uni comes from Corby, one of the 4% of the population that doesn't have Scottish ancestry. She and her Hubby took me and the wife out on the beer; the evening consisted of watching the local inhabitents beat the crap out of each other with anything that came to hand. The wierd thing was that there would be a fight in a pub which everyone not involved with it ignored. It's very hard to have a conversation with someone when some girl's smacking a bloke over the head with a pool cue. Corby is like a run down version of crawley but with a level of violence on par with LA. I would hate to work in the local AE.

Florence. The people are plesant and good looking which makes up for the place being a run down shit hole. Looks more like Baghdad with its decaying buildings everywhere. Some people think it's romantic but I think it's just cheap marketing. There is a difference between nice old buildings like say, in Paris, compared to the garbage that graces this medieval wreck.

And don't bother trying to drive there, the road system is the worst I've ever experienced. You would be better off trying to navigate through one of those giant mazes. An absolute shit hole that needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
