Can I just shock you? I like wine, despite what I said earlier. At any one time I’ve got ten bottles of wine in the house.

😂

I'll live with being criticised for changing my mind when the facts change. The alternative is highly unappealing to me.

But each to their own.

If you listen to Baroness Casey it doesn't sound as though it's going to be that muddy, more of a cover up. I'll leave it there though now.
What, the new findings are going to be a cover up?

Hopefully, as I said before, the inquiry will be into ALL known group / CSE offences to try and find out how and why it happens, and not just a focus on Asian gangs…

There is a lot that can be done better, but it will take money, like better funding social services and police CSE teams for starters. A change in culture to belief of the victim (which I feel from my experience is happening more) is also incredibly important.

Giving young people a feeling of self worth and future would also help, but that’s a very difficult one to solve quickly…

Follow up on BBC2 Newsnight with abuse victims just started, Baroness Casey there too.

[Not party political btw! Smacks more of the Post Office scandal imho].
The Post Office scandal.

Hillsborough…

Grenfell…

John Charles de Menesez….

All have that feeling of people in high positions, and again not just politicians not doing 'the right thing' for a variety of reasons!

No, I honestly think if the inquiry is done fully that we will find that councils, police, politicians & especially local communities will have covered up swept it under the carpet.

Totally agree on the other points, I hope the new investigation of old cases delivers what it should and also takes in account those family members who knew what was going on but chose to ignore at best or at worst were complicit. I'd also love to see a proper sentencing policy but I think that's wishful thinking.

Good to see that you are waiting for the results of the new inquiry before jumping to conclusions. And what if it doesn't find what you expect, another enquiry ?

I don't think anyone is saying it's solely an Asian thing are they ?. But those figures you've quoted are stating 31% of grooming gangs are black or asian and 42% white, out of a population where 81% are white.

And what if they don't find this ? Another enquiry ?

Am I not allowed an opinion then, after all you seem to have one on every topic on this board, or do you just get off on sniping all day ?.
