I should have also mentioned that kick and rush is completely inaccurate. The term 'kick and rush' suggests simply putting the ball past players and outpacing them a la Tony Daley. Kaz doesn't do this. He beats players with footwork, unpredictability and balance. Watch:

His problem, like many previous players with his talent, is consistency. He seemed to be finding that at the beginning of the season, but he was always going to be held back in Hughton's squad because of his defensive limitations. He was booked 5 times in August partly because he was trying to be the player that Hughton needed at both ends of the pitch.
He is not Hughton's first choice now, but there may still come a time this season when he'll get another chance. If that chance comes its down to Kaz to force the manager to pick him: Murphy has done this since the new year, Goldson has done it, Rosenior did it earlier in the season. As August proved, Kaz is capable of being the best player in this division. We are in the fantastic position of having a player of his calibre currently unable to force his way in because of the performances of the incumbents. He is waiting in the wings for an opportunity. Lets not deride him while he waits.
