Its not a question of fault or errors.

Its a question of could a keeper of Harts undeniable talent of saved one of the goals, I think even he himself would say yes, he didnt and is not blamed, but on another day I think he might have saved one of them.

Its no good just blindly accepting that they were difficult to save, of course they were, but there is a reason why he is paid £100 000+ per week and that is he has the potential to make world class saves and last night he really didnt.

Should a world class goalkeeper match and cancel out (save) a world class shot?

No. If a shot is world class that means it's basically unsavable.

A world class save clearly means the shot was saveable but took something phenomenal to stop it.

Joe Hart is on £100k a week? Not a chance

Of course I do not know, but he would be on a bumper contract, I am sure he would not be too far off that and probably on as much if you count in his commercial interest.

How much would you think he is on ?

Actually according to the tabloids you are right as he got a new deal this summer. I'm sure he was on a cheapy deal from when he signed from Shrewsbury still, but seems it was re-negotiated.

Ok so are you saying Joe Hart isn't world class? I don't think many keepers would of had that. Great turn by Benzema, made it look like he was going to put it across goal but placed it inch perfect into the left corner.

The last time I got called on saying a player wasn't world class, I had the whole of NSC argue against me. My definition of world class, it appears, is different from everyone here. Do you think he is world class?

I think the general consensus when awarding 'world class status' is that you have always been considered an international class player and then go on to be an integral member of a World Cup winning side.

The only other way is for the aforementioned World Class player to say that another player is world class, as in Xavi about Paul Scholes.

Its all bullshit, I know, but even Messi will have his detractors if he doesnt go on to win the world cup with Argentina when future generations compare him with confirmed world class players as Zidane, Pele, Maradona.

You see, I would say you had to be THE best in any position, at a period in time, or at most the top two. For example, in my opinion, there are only two world class attackers in world football right now, Messi and Ronaldo. There are a plethora of exceptional players, but only two world class. Others would say there are a douzen world class attackers around at the moment and that's fine too.

Anyway, Joe Hart is good, but I don't think he is the best in the world right now. He is young and heading in the right direction, and keepers don't usually hit their prime until about 28 onwards, so it's frightening to think how good he could be. We shall see.

I'd say Hart is World Class along with players such a Silva, Tevez, Rooney, Valencia, Hazard, Lampard etc etc. Then I would say players such as Ronaldo and Messi are a tier above that.

I think that's similar to the debate we had last time. I would say Messi and Ronaldo are the only two world class players, the rest are exceptional, but not world class, the best in their class at what they do.

That's fair enough. Everyone has their different "labels" as to say, but acknowledge and agree on the difference in quality.
