 Oh dear. Hart was brilliant tonight - some super saves & keeping. Yes, maybe he should have done better with the last, but it was kompany who should have easily cleared ronaldo's shot. He is a truly brilliant keeper - easily the eat since seaman. All oter current English keepers are shite in comparison.

Yup - comfortably one of the best in the world.

Jesus Christ Fenton.

Excellent finish by Benzema for goal one, massive deflection for the second, Kompany randomly ducked when Hart (rightly) assumed he had it covered for the third.... he made so many top saves tonight. Oh for the days when it was a straight fight between Paul Robinson, David James and your pick of any Championship level duffer

God help England if anything were to happen to Hart.

In the end Roy Keane and Southgate both had the courage to call it the way it is and get over the English myth that we must have "the best keepers in the world" to criticise Joe Hart for the goals.NSC just shows how powerful repeated myths can be.

Anyone who thought he had a shocker clearly didn't watch the game. The 3rd wasn't a clanger at all, Kompany's fault all day long.

I thought he was brilliant tonight, and people criticising are the same ones last year who held Caspar and Brez responsible for every goal conceded.
First takes a deflection, second is a class finish and for the third he's unsighted and he should be covering the whole of the rest of the goal not the small part Kompany should be blocking

The Man City defence wasn't putting enough pressure on the attackers as they shot for two of the goals.

He is not the best keeper on the planet thats for sure. When i head back to Brighton for the odd weekend my Irish mate always laughs about the way our media and a proportion of England fans overrate our players. Thats why i enjoy watching RTE during major tournaments. They're always cracking up about this.

I'll never forget Alan Shearer on the BBC in 2006 just after England had been knocked out by Portugal saying he couldn't think of 2 Portuguese players who would have got into our England starting 11. Delusional.

Best keeper England have had since Seaman. Didn't react for the third because he didn't expect Kompany to duck out the way.

Anyway who gives a , because Brighton have won away!

This. Hart wasn't at fault for the last goal. The defence should have been higher up the pitch and not pinned back in their own six yard box. Hart couldn't see shit all and then when Ronaldo did shoot Kompany ducked?

Hart was immense tonight, definitely not the best keeper in the world but certainly the best in this country by a country mile. Was nice to see the gutted City faces though :)

I didnt see his earlier saves, but for me a top top keeper saves the basic and difficult shots nearly all the time, but also makes a few worldy's when it matters and he didnt do that last tonight.

Any of those goals wouldnt of been attributed to keeper errors at most clubs, but when your on that stage playing for a team jockying for world domination, you would expect your keeper to be undeniably exceptional and he wasn't.

He might become a world class keeper because he is very very good, but last night he didnt save his team, maybe harsh but if you want to be judged as the best in the world then thats the way it is.

That may be true, but you try running the country and posting at the same time .......

But which of the 3 conceded goals were unsavable ??

No goals are unsaveable

Who's got a long list of keepers that are better than Hart then? or left-backs better than Cole?

In the first half hour he made 3 world class saves from Ronaldo alone.

I can't think of a better keeper, amazing a keeper has a shit game he is now not great, you will not find one keeper in the world that ant had a bad game, and he didn't have that bad a game

Marcelo's shot took a wicked deflection, Benzema's goal was just world class and placed inch perfect and the last one Kompany ducked out the way last minute while he was standing a couple of yards in front of Hart, plus the ball had some wicked dip on it.

You should watch the saves Hart made in the first half then comment.
