I think it’s both likely and welcome that he won’t be allowed to leave for less than £100m. I think he would be a huge asset for Liverpool as the ideal replacement for Nunez and they have a considerable war chest due spending very little last summer. If they can find better value with another player then good luck to them and we get to keep him. Win-win for us.
I've no doubt Liverpool have an NDP . . . . Not as disciplined as ours Though. I guess they have to cut some slack to locals with highlighted perms . . . . Hence Nunez on the way out, and Elliot possibly hanging on. . .

IF we can do a Ctrl/Alt/Delete On Jao Pedro so he passes the test . . . and we keep him because no one meet's TB's valuation. . . .great.

If we cash in . . .great . . . .

My gut feeling is he's on his way out, not a team player, nor shares the club values.

It's clear I think to anyone prepared to engage in a moments thought, that i'm talking about players refusing to play rather than the general amount of money we get for selling players
Caicedo and Cucurella both went into a massive sulk and refused to play once the Fulham Dodgers became involved.

Hasn’t he recently been playing No 9 for Brazil? That’s got to be worth something, especially at his age.
He has, but Brazil are far from the powerhouse they’re renowned for. New manger starts in a few days, let’s see how he gets on then.

This season, in September 2024, he wasn't named in the original squad but was called up as a late replacement. He was an unused sub against Ecuador and came on as a half-time sub in a 1-0 defeat away in Paraguay.

He was then called up in March; started and played 60 minutes in a win at home to Colombia and then wasn't used in a 4-1 defeat away in Argentina.

So, a bit-part player at best.
Isn’t that like calling Dunk in his prime a bit part player for England. It’s Brazil 🤣

It's got nothing to do with whether it's England or Brazil, but everything to do with the amount of game time. Joao Pedro may well become a regular for Brazil... but he certainly isn't yet.

And I don't understand your comment about Dunk - he has never been a regular for England. The very definition of a bit part player for England.

It’s just funny reading Albion fans say he’s only a bit part player for Brazil, our club legend is only a bit part player for England etc etc

Not seen the Naylor story but, what is it about Brazilian forward players ? Take yer pick, Antony at United, known for being hot headed, feisty and a walking red card, Richarlison at Spurs, known for being hot headed, feisty and a walking red card, Cunha at Wolves, known for being hot headed, feisty and a walking red card and João Pedro at the Albion, known for being hot headed, feisty and a walking red card..... anyone see a pattern forming ?
It’s the South American spirit, innit

If he goes (after we get the fee the club funds acceptable) I think it is because he will get to play in the Champions League, have a much better chance of winning a trophy and of course be paid quite a lot more but I hope he stays because he can turn games on their head will one moment of brilliance, is an excellent penalty taker and great technique. My hunch is he will go but I have no issue with him not being a team player or being at odds with Brighton’s values. He’s only 23 and I think he’s going to a really special player when he peaks and unless he goes abroad he could be playing against us for a decade!

Has he facked off yet?!

I don't know about Pedro(whether he goes or not). From what I've seen this season he hasn't been that good. Yes, he's a great penalty taker but generally he has been hit and miss. He goes down too easily (although he's not the only 1) and lashes out when things don't go his way. I feel he thinks he's better than the team and at times doesn't take the easy option of passing to a teammate, rather try and take 2 or 3 players on and inevitably loses possession. That red at Brentford was completely rash and when the team are struggling in a game he goes missing when, the likes of Mitoma for instance, get on and try to get us going back into the game. Obviously, training ground bust ups happen most weeks but his head not being in the right place smells like a Trossard to me!

"So, with João, we had a small issue in training a type which isn't uncommon from time to time in all football clubs. We dealt with it internally, and the matter is closed.

"Joao is a is an incredible football player. He's a match-winner for us - he's a great player - that's why we invested in him. But there are principles, there are values from my side that are non-negotiable, and they count for everyone. Everyone has to stick to them, and I don't make any compromises.

"João is still a young player, and there's still a lot of potential. He will grow, and I'm sure that he will learn from this, and come back stronger next season.

"I’m really looking forward to seeing him renewed and reinvigorated at his highest peak in our team, and that's all I will say about this."
