How do you know we've got a 16th place budget? Can you post the other best 15th teams budget please? And we're only 10pts clear of the relegation zone with 17 games played.

Tanno said it after the club did the maths and reassessed our original estimate mate, and we're only 4 points of the play offs.

But still, knee jerk away.

I'm wrong? Is that a FACT or your opinion? Please post the stats to back up what you are stating as fact.

Yes you are. Can't drag up the seagulls world clip on my phone but I might do it later if I can be bothered.. Try not to throw your toys out of the pram fella, I know seeing your club play attractive football in a new stadium in the second tier of English football must be a bitter pill to swallow.

Now you must excuse me i've got a nut to crack and I can't find my sledgehammer.

No need to panic and spend money in January , the squad is good enough for mid table obscurity.

read my opening post again. I said IF we want to be contenders. I am very happy with how we play generally and am well behind Gus. You can't call someone wrong if you aren't able to back it up.

Why did anyone think Navarro and Dicker would be Championship quality??? Nevermind Sparrow who was barely in the team last season, seriously overated! Think staying up and consolodating really is the priority then progress!

Put this on another thread, but maybe more suited to this one... >>

Clearly the central midfield is a big problem area.

Navarro, Sparrow, Harley ( and Dicker ) not good enough, so as a minimum we need 2 more in here in January.

Personally I think we should cash in on Dunk, and bring in a replacement central defender with part of the money.

On top of this we need a fullback ( could be Reyes ) and an experienced striker ( sending Paynter back ).

We need to keep Harper, or get in someone else, as Ankergren is not the answer in goal..

So I seriously hope it's a busy January for us.

Reyes cost WBA £3m+ and they want to recoup that in January o unfortunately I don't think he is a contender although he could do onder for our midfield meahile - better there than at fullback. I agree that Paynter isn't the answer up front but we do need height and muscle in all areas. I too would cash in on Dunk as I believe we can cover him and assume the cash would be needed for subsstantial additions.

The trouble is everyone will be after the same players as us,i think as with last season holding on to Dunk etc might be the the main issue.

Too early to cash in on Dunk (same as it was probably too early to cash in on Bennett). Paynter doesn't seem to be the answer. Is it bad luck or bad management research that most of the players we've brought in to strengthen the squad (Buckley, Hoskins, Vicente, Vincelot, Reyes, for example) seem to have 'sick-note' as their middle name?

Johnnie Jackson from Charlton would be the ideal signing for midfield, Leon Barnett worth a punt from Crawley upfront.

Give Jamie Smith a chance if he's fit!!

We are talking about making Brighton and Hove Albion better not Barnett or Dagenham & Redbridge. So forget that idea and send him off to a Diov 1 or 2 side and take Navarro with him.

We need to bring in a player with the vision and ability of Vicente but who is fit. Years ago we did it by bringing in Denis Mortimer we need a similar type signing now urgently, an experienced old premiership player nearing the end of his career who wants a final 12 months..

Just thought of a player who may be available. Peter Lovenkrands at Newcastle wants first team football could we get him on loan for the rest of the season and put him in the shop window for Newcastle to sell as he would prlobably be our of our price range.

This team needs to continue to evolve and rather than leave everything to the summer, I think it's best to get some of the faces in now.

The higher we finnish this season, the easier it will be to bring in the better players in the summer, as we can be sold as genuine promotion candidates.

Personnally I think we need 2 central midfielders, a fullback, a central defender, a goalie, and a striker. I hope we get some of these in January. We may need to cash in on Dunk if we get a good offer, to make this happen.

Don't let Gus near the purse strings otherwise we'll get another four Harleys.

Is this the same Gus that got the best out of Murray, ElAbd and Barnes? Did you expect him to sign Rooney or Ronaldo or maybe even Messi as we were promoted last season? From some of your posts, it seems as though you would prefer us to have somebody else in charge.

As the saying goes in Gus we trust and I do but am suprised that what seems obvious to most he seems to miss and needs to start buiulding his team around CMS as he said he would from January or even now if the loan players are available for the rest of the season.
