The name gives it away
Yep. It encourages players to go there and imagine JPVH wouldn't turn down a chance for champions league football.
Can't imagine JPVH and Pedro rocking up at the same team after their little difference of opinion here. Don't think Newcastle want to buy a ready made punch up.on the training ground!
Also if the FFP always looks at a three year period, so maybe their big losses are now outside the window considered.

Yep I'm told by a Newcastle fan that they have a lot of headroom this summer as their initial Saudi splurge disappears from the equation. Doesn't mean they're getting Van Hecke though

Oh yeah, I forgot about their little spat. Maybe their little spat was because they were arguing about who will get to Newcastle 1st 🤣.
Joking aside, I seriously hope its bullshit!

Source comes from this video from weekend on sensible transfers for us. Grade A transfer slop at it's finest. Nothing credible at all as far as agents/clubs/player. JJ Bull had a look through fbref and put together a video for Athletic youtube channel.

Even North East journalists that are following Newcastle, and are meant to have sources know bugger all. Craig Hope and Luke Edwards were handbagging each other on Twitter as they both reported opposite narratives on Paul Mitchell still working.

All they are good for is reporting press conferences and matches, zero gets leaked out of the club nowadays. It's all just made up nonsense for X engagement from these knobber-no-name journalists. Even the NE journalists that are positioning themselves as sourced and credible make it up as they go along and putting 2+2 together whether it be Mbeumo, Semenyo, Cunha, Delap, Pedro.

All links and inside sources that these journalists spout out are the captain obvious Garth Crooks team of the week players. Not a single one abroad or even in Championship. Would think if they knew anything or had inside sources they'd be spilling the beans on players we are tracking abroad.

We accept he’ll go at some stage but not to Newcastle surely?
Newcastle are going to get to the top table eventually. They have the richest owners in the world, who will be putting the maximum allowable into the club every season. Yes it will take longer than they would like to catch the big 6, because of PSR, but they will get there.

They need centre-halves. They will spend a lot of money. Its not far-fetched. Now, they have already progressed far with Guehi talks, so that may well take precedence, and this particular rumour feels less than water-tight, but van Hecke is one of the very very best centre-backs available on the transfer market at the moment.

Guehi has a year left on his contract and will undoubtedly be sold by Palace this summer. They’ll probably get £50/60m for him I’d think.
I’d think that we’d have to be offered c 70/80m to let JPVH go this summer. Next summer more likely. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like Newcastle are cooling on Guehi. Probably a blend of height deficiency and Beaky's silly price tag.

You seem to be on a a mission to get JPVH sold. What makes you think he’s “available on the transfer market” any more than any other CB than VVD?

I am of the opinion that we have bought CBs to cover for Webster and Dunks inevitable missing of games due to injury over the season rather than as a replacement for JPVH

Yeah, my influence in transfers is legendary.

I think I said "van Hecke is one of the very very best centre-backs available on the transfer market at the moment". Feel free to list better centre-backs available on the transfer market, there will be some I'm sure.

However I don't think Rudiger, van Dijk, Saliba, Bastoni, Ruben Dias, Gabriel, Araujo, Militao, Akanji, Alaba, Konate, Bremer or Marquinhos are available. So I don't think there's many candidates.

But then I am a massive fan of van Hecke

It's fascinating to see the turnaround in JPvH since his opening game at, ironically/coincidently, the barcodes.

How his stock has risen. It's almost as if these players need time to settle and it people look a bit foolish writing players off after one performance. Or even a few. Having said all that, I hope he sticks around. The Brighton model has tended to be buying players for the near, as opposed to immediate, future. If that's the case with the new guys, a bit of experience and consistency is essential – and JPvH is that man.
