Buy tickets for all away games, even if you don't intend to go. Recoup some cash by selling the tickets on, on here, below face value.

This methodology will see you with beaucoup de points loyalty.

Actually I disagree.... Wasn't 70% of 1901ers existing fans? If so, 30 % of them (companies) will prob not go to away games. Also of the remaining 70% (1300ish) I suspect less than half will want to travel (based on last years average away attendance v STH's)

Which means, even for a game like Pompey with a 2000 allocation (a guess), maybe 700 will be taken by 1901er's with 1300 being available to the remaining 2700 ish who were STH's at Withers (and not 1901ers).

On that basis those 2700 should be fine, if they are quick off the blocks.

EDIT: I agree there will be a Prawn Sarnie binfest on here, but for the reaons outlined above, it will not be necessary!

Sorry Kingcole but I'm not clear with your figures here, if we are allocated 2000 which it will be (10% under league rules) then only 1300 STH's will be fine, 1400 will miss out....How does that suggest 2700 should be fine ? Not everyone has all day to try and ring the ticket office and I think you've underestimated the 1901 members potential demand for this fixture.

They will get priority of tickets of that I've no doubt, and given the close proximity and the fact its on a summers day I think this is going to cause a lot of upset for us the true fans who were STH's at The Goldstone, Gillingham and Withdean. In fact I've already resigned myself to the fact I'm highly unlikely to get a ticket for this match even after being a season ticket holder for approx 20 years.

That's me then :)

I still think people are making far too much of this as there's a fair chance that, after Pompey, there won't be another game that sells out this season.

West Ham - It's going to be £45 a ticket, therefore won't sell out
Palace - Tuesday night, didn't sell out last time
Peterbough - Has lost its appeal with the loss of the terrace
Soton - meh

Dreamland.

Do we ever sell Leeds out on an away fixture?

Bear in mind, the majority of 1901-ers are true fans as well, and have earned their stripes at the Goldstone, Gillingham, Withdean blah blah as well. The 1901-ers who are of the more JCL variety are no more likely to want to go to Pompey than they were when we last played there.

You are equating the huge takeup in season tickets with the assumption that they're all going to want to go to away games as well - I just don't see it panning out like that. If 1901-ers are in front of STH's in the queue for away tickets then so be it, but that doesn't mean all the tickets will be snaffled by JCL 1901-ers. The "real fan" 1901-ers (for want of a better expression) just have an opportunity before the rest of us to get in slightly earlier, but I'm confident there'll stll be plenty left for the rest of us who get organised quick enough.

And if some of us do miss out ? Well, so be it. Worse things happen at sea.

If 1901ers do have priority (and I don't believe this has been confirmed) expect many non-away-1901ers to buy for their non-1901 chums who do want to go away. But it's always been like that.

If every Withers STH did want to go to say Pompey, then based on my very estimated figures, you are right. 1400 would miss out. However, there is no evidence to suggest that every STH will travel. Historically, even on our modest ST numbers at withers, less than 50% reguarly travel, although I apprecaite more will to Pompey. Maybe some won't due to holidays.

However, if you are not prepared to either ring up the ticket office, or go online when they go on sale, you deserve to miss out

But the further they live from Brighton, the less competition there will be for tickets anyway. I doubt we will sell out for anything north of London or west of Southampton.

this. i wouldnt expect an awfully large % of 1901 holders are likely to go off away anywho.

This..... and a STH at Withers and a 1901 member but unlikely to be going to all the away games due to family ties i will be recycling my ticket to fellow 'true fans' i.e. Brother and best mate etc.........

tickets will be distributed as fairly as possible. The Albion moving forward and trying to do that in the fairest way. So many people have travelled along way for the Albion but can't continue to feel aggrieved every time some one who has not also gets a ticket. Loose a few in the Championship and fans drift as will not be cheap...Cardiff on a Tuesday night in August ?? how many ??

Let's move this binfest on a bit ...

Should people who manage to get a ticket for Pompey be rewarded with more loyalty points? Or should loyalty points for away games only be awarded for undersubscribed games? After all, those who get a ticket to the Pompey match have already received their reward.

Only asking.

This can't be classed as official, but having just got off the phone to BHA customer services about another matter, I did ask about ticket allocation for the SSC and away game priority during the coming season.

The guy was very clear and helpful
If the customer services staff have the clear answer, I'm struggling to understand why the Club can't post it on the official site.

Or, maybe, the answer isn't yet quite as clear as kingcole imagines?

Presumably there won't be priorities in bands of a few points... it would be in rather wider bands. So one game won't make a huge difference?

If there are 2000 people with, say 400 points (for being a Withdean season ticket holder), it's the easiest thing in the world to say you need at least 401 points for the next big game.

If some of these 2,000 wanted to go to Pompey, but were unsuccessful, they'll feel a bit aggrieved if they miss out again, having already missed out the first time.

So - from reading the above, it looks like I will have no chance of seeing Brighton next year.

I live in Leeds, and have always gone to around 70% of the away games and 2 or 3 home games each season. Now, because of the way the fixtures have fallen, the first away game I would have wanted to go to is Cardiff - according to the above, i've got no hope at all.

I appreciate that fans like me aren't a priority for the club any more, but it's still a shame that i'm going to have to try and sneak into home ends of away games to even have a small chance of seeing them play...

Obviously you could be that obtuse. But one would hope not.
