Information on Priority for Away Games and other next season

This can't be classed as official, but having just got off the phone to BHA customer services about another matter, I did ask about ticket allocation for the SSC and away game priority during the coming season.

The guy was very clear and helpful, however the bad news, it seems, is that away attendances during the 2010/2011 season will not count towards loyalty points for the coming season.

At this stage, loyalty points will be awarded like this.....

All Amex STH's will receive a lump of points
All Withdean STH's will receive an additional lump of points.

And that's it!

I guess the thinking here is that a priority group of about 4000 people is instantly created. I know that 1901 will be in front of these, but I'm guessing that the vast majority of 1901's were in fact Withers STH's.

I would summarise by suggesting that for the Pompey game, if you had a ST at Withers you will be fine, as long as you are reasonably quick of the mark.

I would also suggest that if you were not a STH at Withers, you will have little chance of bagging a Pompey ticket.

I have also concluded that if someone was a STH at Withers, and attends both Pompey and Cardiff, they would then be in an elite group who would be head and shoulders ahead of the chasing pack for future away games.

Not official, but sounded pretty concrete......

......

Won't stop a complete KING prawn sarnie binfest on here when ticket details are announced if 1901ers get any sort of preferential treatment for away tickets, but I think that you are probably right

Actually I disagree.... Wasn't 70% of 1901ers existing fans? If so, 30 % of them (companies) will prob not go to away games. Also of the remaining 70% (1300ish) I suspect less than half will want to travel (based on last years average away attendance v STH's)

Which means, even for a game like Pompey with a 2000 allocation (a guess), maybe 700 will be taken by 1901er's with 1300 being available to the remaining 2700 ish who were STH's at Withers (and not 1901ers).

On that basis those 2700 should be fine, if they are quick off the blocks.

EDIT: I agree there will be a Prawn Sarnie binfest on here, but for the reaons outlined above, it will not be necessary!

This is really bad news for people who live away from Brighton, who have and will continue to go to mostly away fixtures as they can't get to as many home fixtures.

I think we'll get the whole stand behind the goal for Pompey. they are hardly selling out these days, so that must be at least 3k available? Can't argue with Withdean STH having priority though.

There will only be about 5 away games where we sell our entire allocation. Pompey, Saints, West Ham, Palace, Reading at a guess, possibly Birmingham.

Agreed, although some brownie points for the 10 hour return journey to see us lose to Huddersfierld, the week before Christmas would have been very appreciated.

But the further they live from Brighton, the less competition there will be for tickets anyway. I doubt we will sell out for anything north of London or west of Southampton.

That's me then :)

I still think people are making far too much of this as there's a fair chance that, after Pompey, there won't be another game that sells out this season.

West Ham - It's going to be £45 a ticket, therefore won't sell out
Palace - Tuesday night, didn't sell out last time
Peterbough - Has lost its appeal with the loss of the terrace
Soton - meh

Nah - anything midlands and North from there will see massive gaps in the Albion end.

The number of times an away fixture will be oversubscribed in this division is minimal. Just because we've got 18,000 STH's now, doesn't mean our away following is suddenly going to leap dramatically. We WILL take more away from home than before obviously, as the fixtures are more attractive. But then the stadiums are bigger, so the away allocations are bigger. Loyalty points will hardly need to come into it.

Pompey will be one of the high-demand ones and unfortunately they also have the shittest ground, but I bet everyone who really wants to go to Pompey, and gets their arse organised, will get their ticket without much drama. People are getting in a flap over nothing.

Initially it looks bad, but I would suggest the only games that will sell out will be the ones that are geographically close by, so those living fart away should be fine for games that are close to them.

EDIT: Opps beaten to it - like minded response tho!

Seem's pretty fair to me.
Presumably there's a fair few in a similar situation to me, season ticket holders at Withdean who were perhaps mildly concerned as to the ease of getting to popular away matches. I'll surely get a Portsmouth one based on the Withdean and Amex STH points, thus a Bristol City and Leicester ticket... and from there I should have enough points to be near the top of the list.
Sorted.

The voices of reason. Can I suggest all those in a panic go and look on the football grounds guide website to see the away allocations in the Championship.

Have to say I am happy enough with this system too. I didn't think I would miss any away games I wanted to go to anyway but now I know I won't. Anyone else who is concerned by their chances of getting tickets for Palace away will just have to get themselves to Cardiff for maximum super fan points.

Exactly.

We have a decent away following, but we're certainly no Leeds - now there's a club that certainly NEEDS a loyalty points system in place. Beyond prioritising STH's, I don't really know why we are even bothering with loyalty points to be honest. Just a few whingers creating a fuss about nothing, wanting to be deemed more loyal and deserving over someone else, when the truth is, there'll be plenty of tickets to go around. If you're (a) desperate and (b) organised, you'll get every away ticket you want.

The only time this will EXPLODE as an issue is if/when we get a massive third round FA Cup tie... and even then we will probably get a pretty large allocation.

Otherwise, I think most people will be able to get the tickets they want.
