why would i need to be a skint inner city mum or even a nigerian mother to be to wish opportunities on the less fortunate. i thought that was your whole rambing point to show compassion to those in need. funny how you see anyone questioning the allocation of resources as bound up in hatred and anger whereas you can serenely see through this idiocy and are quite prepared to grant favours like some medieval king.

good luck to you mate in shattering the illusions of gibbering middle england whipped up into a friendly by silly newspapers as that is all this is about. dumb wankers probably more concerned about their new conservatory than genuine fairness and support for people under pressure in reality eh.

You are a very bitter finger pointer and supposedly poignant opinionator of the people. Your unsavoury cusses and clear wish to undermine sort of cover what truths might lie somewhere in your snidey vitriol.
Personally, and i say this pesonally as i don't want to be an online guru correcting the world's wrongs and being treated royally, i think there are much bigger problems than the idea that an individual came to the UK and used the NHS. I don't care how much money this person needed for care and i don't care which country this person arrived from. I honestly don't mind my taxes being spent on such things and wouldn't bat an eyelid if my taxes were raised to enable us to afford such treatment. If i had a wife and she was in need of better care than the country i was on could offer, i would more than likely do what i could to get her elsewhere. That's sort of being human, i think, so villifying this person and claiming she doesn't deserve assistance is, in my mind, a rather horrid thing to do.
Yes, systems have to work and have to remain affordable and manageable, but i am unhorrified by this one. I am more against illegal wars than individual plights.

There's a perfectly viable solution to this issue.

African woman has lots of kids and needs lots of money.

All we need to do is find a buyer...

i hope you are looking forward to your round of applause from the collected clueless on here as thats all it gets you.

where have i vilified this person? as mentioned before i am quite comfortable living with and socialising with people who have told me explicitly they have come to the UK to utilise services and improve their lot. thinking its not right and it hurts others who may have a better case for these resources is not hypocritical especially if you have discussed it with them face to face.

you taking a break from writing fish on a bike bumface whirr clunk kerpow the pigeon to show off about how compassionate you are isnt really going to convince me i am bitter and vitriolic.

I'm sorry - I haven't read all 3 pages of this thread. I thought it was about an article from the Sun about one woman. Have we established that all Nigerians come here and sponge then?

no but we have established that all the usual suspects from all sides come out and get it all out their system. for all of us who leap from a scurrilous story to the enemy at the gates in a single bound, there is a nice equal balance of people grandly giving away what isnt theirs, the usual old chestnuts about yucky common costa brits not learning spanish, and 8 billion mentions of the daily mail. its knockabout stuff.

I didn't say you had villified this person. I was giving my opinion of this story and the feel of it and the likely reasons for its printing. I don't really feel like i am after applause from my liberalist fanclub, but i am glad you can peer into my mind and read my motives. I also don't care if you agree with me. You are you and long may that continue. I just wrote something stupid to see if anything made sense in what i said or could remember today. Now, please carry on with this free psychology session as my actual psychologist i can't get the funding for at the minute (for which i don't blame pregnant Africans (and nor do you, i know)).
Ask me a question if you want to.

Fair enough, not gonna join in.

I made my point because I'd imagine for this woman's case there are many involving Brits abroad that cost equally as much. What I didn't realise is that it was actually a discussion about immigration from certain areas of the world and full of generalisations. Therefore, I shall avoid.

shame as it would be interesting to compare countries with reciprocal health agreements and work and residency rules with ones that dont and see how far we get. we really wouldnt need long unless you factor in the largely pointlessly emotional aspect that they are from a poor african country with currently massive chain immigration into the UK for some reason, in a blatant act of cherry picking who is deserving based on your moral programming regarding Africa.

For someone who describes this as knockabout stuff, you don't half seem to get uppity about it.

Waynflete: There you go doing it again, Spanish quite clearly said in the last 15-20 years and dare I suggest Asians as well however you refer to Eastern Europeans arriving over the last few years. The major difference is that many Eastern Europeans are realising the grass isn't necessarily greener here and returning back to their homelands. However the Western Africans/Asians remain, are having large families and employ immigration lawyers at our expense to bring their relatives over too.....I await your race card rant, but if you don't understand this is happening then please remove your head from the sand.

If by 'there you go doing it again' you mean engaging in a rational discussion about something on an internet forum, then yes, I am. As I said, I'm no expert, but I think that even in the past 15-20 years the net migration from West Africa will be small compared with eastern Europe.

The Spanish: I think you'll find that Waynflete is trying, not very successfully, to be clever with his big words. I've got him marked down as a student with nothing better to do, cant go protesting around Brightons streets as there are no classes to miss.

I'm clearly being somewhat successful, as you seem repeatedly to resort to personal abuse rather than engaging effectively with the discussion. Last time you threatened to set your 'technical team' on me and report me to the newspapers.

So you are now promoting Censorship on this forum, which your comment clearly suggests. You have clearly suggested that if The Spanish doesn't agree with your ideology on any particular subject then he shouldn't post at all. My god, Waynflete are you for real, this board was set-up as a forum of debate for Brighton fans. In that one sentence you wrote to Spanish, you have proven yourself to be the spotty little self opinionated tosspot I thought you always were.

See above re personal abuse. I don't think I've resorted at any point to slagging people off. If you can't cope with debate without getting angry and being rude to people, then perhaps you shouldn't post on threads like this. That's not censorship, you're entitled to post if you want to, but as Viney pointed out if you don't like someone disagreeing with you then don't post.

To be honest, I'm tired of being accused (by you in particular) of various things just because I offer a different opinion from yours. I wish you the very best with your health issues and hope you get well soon. I think I'll now flounce off and not post on threads like this myself! Cheers. :annoyed: :flounce:

That is a shame, i don't always agree with you but you are a good poster who adds to the discussion.

There is always the ignore list (not sure how to use it but i know there is one).

Don't think too many Brits go to Nigeria, especially for medical care.

Thanks. I think I'll give it a rest for now and concentrate on the pointless transfer rumours instead!

Just on this point - whilst I can't speak for any Nigerian Airlines, I do work for a UK carrier. There would be absolutely no issue in denying carriage to anyone regardless of their size or colour. The rules are very clear, and they apply to everyone:

You tell me then how this woman flew into our country with a pregnant stomach the size of a hot air balloon ??
