TBH I hope UEFA sticks to the rules, they are there for a bloody good reason. If Textor has got his hands on so many clubs that he cannot extricate himself from the mess then this is exactly what the rule is in place for. We could have faced the same expulsion, except TB dealt with the issue within the rules without pleading for special privileges.
The fact that this affects Palace and us just makes the situation utterly exquisite

f*** right off. Yet another half and half fan I see. If you don't want that, then you aren't proper Brighton, plain and simple OR if you are, then you're f***ing weird.

This will be AMAZING.
Way to understand another view of things 🤣🤣

So in the last 30 games, we finished 4 points ahead of you. Once we got going etc. And we also won the FA Cup whilst you didn't. We also beat you twice this season, 5-2 on aggregate. There was nothing charitable about the Selhurst win, we hd 9 men at one point in the game and still won! I think my point stands, we are a better side than you given the above, the facts speak for themselves!
But the final table doesn't lie. This sounds like sour grapes to me.

Absolutely hilarious a lot of you saying you are a much better side than us! Take off your Brighton rose tinted specs guys! Yes, you finished higher in the league than us but that's because we started awful in the first 8 games as we had sold key players and didnt have the replacements match ready + 7 of our players were knackered from Euros, Copa America and the Olympics! Once we got our best 11 out on the pitch we were the better side - 30 games and we out points scored you by 4 points overall. We also beat you twice, once with 9 men, 5-2 on aggregate, we've also won a major trophy this season, you didn't, and we didn't get hammered 7-0 by anyone! It's not even close!
It’s equally 'absolutely hilarious' that you think the league table should be revised to start from Game 9 on the basis that you 'started awful'. If you want to play it that way, let’s also exclude the dire 8 or 9 match run we had in November/December, and we wouldn’t have finished only 8 points ahead of you, it would be more like 20 points. Palace have a few excellent players but Brighton are much stronger overall, as the league table definitively shows.

I don’t want to get into Europe based on a technicality.

I don’t want palace to cry about not being able to play, I want them to cry about being knocked out at the first opportunity.

Are you joking?

Do you remember social media on our first European away day? People were crying tears of joy whilst posting pics of their breakfast at the airport. Just a total outpouring of happiness.

Playing in Europe and getting tonked is infinitely better than not playing there at all.

It won't happen, but if it came to pass that we got in instead of them it would be one of the greatest moments in our club's history.

Indeed. I wonder what the tally would be if we were to just count 30 league games of our choosing

Getting tonked in the Conference League? By the likes of Noah or Shamrock Rovers? The blue team we beat twice in a week seemed to dispatch every team with ease in that competition. It's a genuine chance for a trophy for ANY Premier League side taking part. Forest must be favourites currently unless they are moved up to the Europa.

We will get there again and with a team who a) deserved it and b) are strong enough to play in Europe and the fa cup and the premiership.

Do you even remember last December? 3 stinking points.

My point was that if Palace play in the Europa league they'll have a wonderful time regardless (and they probably won't be totally spanked to be honest).

I would rather them not get in than get in, have a wonderful time and lose.

This is all true but irrelevant if palace get thrown out due to breaking the rules. Or maybe they shouldn't face consequences, and there is a precedent for that in that they should have been demoted the last of their many times that they've gone into administration?

If they are punished for not following the rules of the competition then it's completely their own fault and natural justice dictates that the next club in line should take their place.

Completely.

Whether football fans like it or not, the game is now about how well you play on the pitch AND how well your club is run off the pitch: see Leicester, Everton points deductions etc.

Everyone knows we are the best run club in football in the world ever (see media passim) ergo we fully deserve that Euro place.🤔

PS. I'll still be amazed if UEFA chucks them out.
