Of course not.

But who do you think sets the quality benchmark for an organisation?

True - but what is he being judged on? What percentage of 'cock-ups' with this mailing are we talking about here? Even a 99.5% accuracy rate would result in 92 errors. We've had one or two on here, and they've decided to make maximum fuss, even believing this small error is enough to make him leave...

And that's down to the managing director to check every single one going out, and not down to, say... the mailing house?

I look forward to more of the same, whoever the managing director / chief executive is.

I'm not sure what part of the mailshot planning was the responsibility of the mailing house. It appears that most of the letters were complete and directed to their intended recipient. It was only those sent to STHs that had paid in one go last time that were incomplete. If the mailing house were tasked with doing the entire job (including quality control) then perhaps they have to shoulder a large part of the blame but it still comes down to the club being seen to be responsible. From another angle, the MD of BP wasn't directing ops on the oilrig in the Gulf of Mexico (in fact, it was mainly being done by third party contractors) but it still cost him his job.

I look forward to Gus' resignation if we lose tomorrow then.

I under stood like others that you do not need to do any thing unless you want to pay in full then you need to by the first of May or those who did pay in full last season and now want to pay D.D need to fill in the slip enclosed.

That's for donating to AITC.

I also paid in full last year but will need to pay in installments this year - but no DD form received. Thought it may have just been a mistake with mine, but no, the old Albion shines through again

Back in Sussex
the old Albion shines through again

I very nearly used the following phrases to try and make my point...

"Typical Albion"
"It wouldn't be Brighton if..."

...which so often accompany an exercise undertaken by the Albion where Captain Cockup seems to have had a little helping hand.

The Large One - do you know why Ken Brown has moved, or been moved, on? If not - why do you think he has?

Anyone remember the cock-up with last year's DD form; didn't most have to be sent out again because they weren't valid?

Potential Amex STH travel survey with a "driving" option missing from the questionnaire?

And there have been some interesting and amusing errors/oversights etc in many of the planning applications submitted in the last year or so.

I don't. But, unlike others, I'm not making accusations or assumptions one way or the other.

Why has he gone? Who knows? Far too many possible reasons to consider; benign and malignant. And none hold any more sway over any other, as far as I know (which is as much as the next person).

I'd also say that this is a prevailing opinion from others I spoke to over the weekend who have had regular dealings with him.

Oh right then i got confused as there is a option ..I authorise the club to debit/charge my card, the details of which the club holds for deducting my monthly season ticket payment

I'd like to know more about the travel zones the letter referred to... When/where does it become 'free' and then subsidised?

Isn't it more that the Albion have a long history of semi-amusing and/or bloody frustrating schoolboy mistakes and it's now believed to be the time to try and be professional 100% of the time, instead of the "80% will do" approach that we've long been used to?

Indeed they do. A club so well organised that I paid for ONE Cup Final Ticket and they took my money and GAVE me TWO TICKETS.

And we won't start on the Private Seat Licence (Its all gone quiet over there!!!!!!!) - pay a lot of money - get no confirmation that I've bought anything. Evem Tescos give you a receipt for buying a 50p bar of chocolate!

Why would he resign - wouldn't it be more likely he'd be sacked? After losing 2 games that would be excessive but ultimately isn't losing a series of matches the main reason why most managers are sacked?

Does anyone really think that the Managing Director of an organisation as big as the Albion actually drafts the letters that go to customers and then personally sorts them into piles, so that each customer gets the correct version of the letter?

I would think that any letter bearing the signature of the MD would at least be checked by either him or his secretary for accuracy and that the mailing house would be under instructions to act correctly and ensure that the forms that are stated as being enclosed are indeed enclosed in order to preserve the good name and efficiency of the club.

No lol, I just thought it applied to fans that paid in full last time and wanted to pay D.D this time, but i would love to see the words .. If you wish to continue D.D payments for new season tickets 2012/2013 No further action required.

Phew! With greatest respect you would need to be pretty stupid not to have realised that the jpeg you posted simply relates to voluntary AITC donations. I would agree with your second point though and we can only speculate that the man at the top (Ken Brown) had to take the rap for this cock up. And of course there is maybe other stuff that has gone on behind the scenes and this was the nail in the coffin.
