How hostile is Friday going to be?

Never has been and never will be hostile at selhurst, unless you are scared if a kid with a drum, an eagle flying across the pitch or a paper display saying 'we don't like you very much'.

And going to the Amex is a bit like going to the theatre. Full of middle class numpties.

Should be quite hostile, lets hope palace can handle it.

I'm popping to Kent this week to pay that **nting eagle a visit, I've bought her a little piece of meat. If I get the dosage right, Kayla should croak as she does her shitty little Selhurst flight. I've arranged for 3 cages of starved Seagulls to be released at different points outside the ground between 7:30 and 7:40, so with a bit of luck they'll swoop in and feast on her while Palace stare on in disbelief.

For the record, I don't hate Palace or their fans.
I'm making up for you.

I wonder is Palace will have a 'display' for us.

Problem with the last one was it was illegible, and written in some unreadable script.

Shit, I'm really scared now, a drum a load of 12 year olds dressed in black and something I can't read.

Wondered how long before the OP got the slap he deserved. Well done that man!

Please tell me where in my original post did I compare any potential trouble on Friday to that seen in the 70's?

The point I was making was the stakes are higher now than at any other time in history.

However congratulations, that's another moronic post you can add to your CV

Clearly there's never been a Brighton v Palace fixture of this magnitude and importance before with so much at stake.

Neutrals talk of this being a somewhat mickey mouse 'derby' and are somewhat dismissive of it, but from what I've seen in the past the level of hate between the two sets of supporters is unprecedented.

Personally I think the atmosphere on friday is going to be absolutely vile and the OB are going to have a job on there hands. Fingers crossed it goes without incident of course and we can stick to talking about the football come the final whistle.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this matter?

"Unprecedented" Don't you think you are getting a bit carried away here? You honestly believe there is more hatred between us & them than any other fixture?

Compared to the away play-off tie at the old Den, I expect this to a teddys bear picnic, kept in for ages after the game, and then same tactics to Norwood Junction after all the Palace lot have gome home.

I remember that night, I took my young son (a mistake as I was really worried for him). We were kept back for ages after the match and the raving Millwall fans we running up and down the terraces like maniacs... they made bonfires and screamed blue murder. It was terrifying coming out into the night amidst the loonies from the Den. BUT we got to Wembley! Anybody else there who remembers it?

What you have to consider is many other rivalries have the familiarity of playing each other regularly and this can almost water down the hostilities between both sides.

Perhaps unprecedented was a step to far though when you consider Swansea v Cardiff and Millwall v West Ham.

Will you forgive me for this slip up?

I might shit myself from inflatable seagulls at the Amex

Registered when you beat us at your place but then strangely silent after we beat you and your play-off position was in doubt. Now it's confirmed you've miraculously grown enough balls to post in numerous threads on NSC again.

Sad sack plastic troll doesn't even have the guts to post on here when his team is doing badly.

I do, it was my 16th birthday. I remember the Police trying to get them to leave the ground and that coppers hat set on fire, also having railway ballast thrown at us as we were only being let out one at a time through the turnstiles. When they eventually opened the gates I remember seeing a bunch of Albion fans wearing Tesco carrier bags chasing after the Millwall thugs who were throwing the stones.

Then had to walk escorted right to the other end of the ground where the coaches were parked. Mark Barhan and Gary Nelson were there chatting to the fans as we boarded our coaches.

Great memories.:albion2:

Good observation. Certainly more prolific when not losing.

Hopefully a hostile atmosphere but no hostile people. (if that makes sence?)

I dont hate Brighton (in fact I love the city) but I do love beating Brighton Hove Albion...then after the game a good chat about what went wrong / right with the game.

The only time I've been scared at a game of football. I was 14/15 and was concerned for my life at one point. Great game to say "I was there" but awful at the time
