A few individuals on here have whined like schoolboys tonight, with very little foundation, and this thread seems to be being used for similar purpose.

Your posting re;infractions etc , as always, well thought out and understandable.

I have often posted my thanks to Brighton supporting Moderators who, overall,do a very good job.

However, there is a thread at present....started by a clearly obvious Crystal Palace troll.....("dougie came to haunt, once an eagle always an eagle" by croydonia). If,collectively, you Moderators are going to let it remain on our main forum instead of doing the intelligent and sensible thing of removing it to ? childish ramblings,......what an earth do you Moderators expect...?

Your 'Moderating' life, I am sure, would be much simpler and Google-adds less upset if you dealt with these matters more swiftly instead of posting on here like a whiny schoolgirl .....sometimes....lol.

Perhaps you could also give croydonias other thread..."where have fans come from".....similar treatment.

If you want a quieter life....you know it makes sense.

A couple of times, once for posting a link titled "latest transfer rumour" when actually it was a link to a load of naked men in a shower which when opened you couldn't close it without turning your computer off, also a loud siren drew attention to the fact you were looking at gay porn on your computer!

Croydonia69 started one thread at 4.26am this morning and another at 5.16am. The second thread was reported to mod HQ at 5.33am and the email notification woke me up. It took me a couple of minutes to put my dressing gown on, log on, and the troll was banned at 5.42am and a notice to that effect went up at 5.48am.

I then went back to bed, which I do not consider to be unreasonable. Since waking up I have moved one of the troll's threads and will do the same action to the other.

The adage 'don't feed the troll' should be followed. Given the weight of traffic on NSC any such threads disappear quickly if people don't bite and instead apply some self restraint.

I do however think the comments you have directed at Edna are patronising and misogynist.

I remember that! TBH anybody stupid enough to click on a 'transfer rumour' thread expecting to find anything remotely interesting deserves everything that happens to them. Pity you can't do it for every transfer window!

Years ago by e77 an ex mod for over zealous swearing and that was fair enough.

Recently too many to mention from PALACE MOD TITANIC for telling palace fans to **** off when they are WUMS or calling us plastics (and not in banter way) but having NO RESPECT from where we have come from. Unlike say croydonbloke, dougie, se25 etc

I did the demos amd marches and its OUR message board so they should expect to be told. If someone came into my house and behaved like that i would tell them to do one.

Indeed, it is a grey area. A Palace fan come on here and says "Hi, where can us Palace fans drink before the game?" and is told to 'f*ck off', then yes, that is abuse and the abuser should be banned. However a Palace fan saying "Ha ha we're going to thrash you you useless 'weed!" ... well anybody who DOESN'T tell them to f*ck off deserves an infraction.

The whole '"don't abuse another poster" rule can only apply when said 'other poster' is a decent sort, and not as you say a troll or a WUM. And yes I KNOW we should ignore the trolls, but sometimes taking the piss out of them is both fun and the best form of retaliation.

Spot on. However for the second scenario what happens on Titanics watch is you get the infraction and the Palace fan can merrily carry on until one of the other mods puts a stop to it. FACT.

Simple answer. Any poster who is Palace should have their account disabled until they donate a few quid to the running of NSC, any Palace fan who is serious about having a normal debate will I believe do it, if all they want is to hurl abuse they won't bother.

Sake, guys. I know it's easy to think this site is just a nice easy free-for-all on which you can swear like a trooper & say what you like. If only it were that simple.

There are two main issues that crop up: firstly the funding side of it and the fact that GoogleAds are getting more and more stroppy about what appears. Secondly, the basic decency side of it, ie anything that is likely to either (a) cause gross offence, or (b) get Bozza sued.

He runs this, I would imagine, purely for the love of the Albion (& the need for a chuckle at the occasional binfest perhaps). He doesn't need to get sued, or threatened, or constantly whined at. If you're not happy with the way this board is run, there are other options out there, or you could always set up your own forum.

Loads of people have earned infractions over the years: they either learn & move on, or disappear. They are, I would add, frequently issued as a result of complaints from other posters, so its not as though it's just the mods taking umbrage for a cheap laugh. An infraction is no different to a yellow card in a match, is it? It's not a sending off. If you really can't deal with that, then perhaps this site isn't for you. No mods= no NSC. Somebody has to do it.
