Sake, guys. I know it's easy to think this site is just a nice easy free-for-all on which you can swear like a trooper & say what you like. If only it were that simple.

There are two main issues that crop up: firstly the funding side of it and the fact that GoogleAds are getting more and more stroppy about what appears. Secondly, the basic decency side of it, ie anything that is likely to either (a) cause gross offence, or (b) get Bozza sued.

He runs this, I would imagine, purely for the love of the Albion (& the need for a chuckle at the occasional binfest perhaps). He doesn't need to get sued, or threatened, or constantly whined at. If you're not happy with the way this board is run, there are other options out there, or you could always set up your own forum.

A few individuals on here have whined like schoolboys tonight, with very little foundation, and this thread seems to be being used for similar purpose. Loads of people have earned infractions over the years: they either learn & move on, or disappear. They are, I would add, frequently issued as a result of complaints from other posters, so its not as though it's just the mods taking umbrage for a cheap laugh. An infraction is no different to a yellow card in a match, is it? It's not a sending off. If you really can't deal with that, then perhaps this site isn't for you. No mods= no NSC. Somebody has to do it.

Carry on.

Quite right.....There really are some shocking knobheads on this board.

two step process would sort out the twats

1. Set some guide lines on what is appropriate to post, what constitutes trolling and draw a line in the sand regarding common decency (apparently many people on here need to be told).
2. Ban the ****wits who can't manage to follow the rules, for good, none if this pissing about with infractions and week long bans (they only return just as twatty as ever and whine about how hard done by they are).

Or alternatively charge anyone who is caught posting stuff that upsets google so they can pay up or **** off.

The definition of trolling and insults is a matter of opinion that the moderators can decide on. However the use of bad language or words that are used in place of bad language (i.e cnuts) can easily be deleted with no discussion or warnings. Perhaps the mods need to be a bit more assertive with the delete button. I'm sure the message would soon get through. There are plenty of words in the dictionary other than swear words.

The offensiveness of swear word is also a matter of opinion. It is clearly the opinion of google ads that is important in this matter.

A couple of times, once for posting a link titled "latest transfer rumour" when actually it was a link to a load of naked men in a shower which when opened you couldn't close it without turning your computer off, also a loud siren drew attention to the fact you were looking at gay porn on your computer!

Well I thought it was funny !!

But can see why I was banned

There's a general feeling of free for all in this forum which forms a feeling of endemic anarchy. We shouldn't rely on the mods to clear up the forum, the majority should know the rules, but alas we give too much leeway for new threads endlessly saying the same thing every day, very week, despite the decent search tool on the site.
I honestly believe a more collective cleanliness wil help bring the forum together. In summary: more merging and more telling off from respected posters when there's a new thread repeating what was previously said.
C'mon, up the ante.
I didn't come here for a lecture in Communism.

Yes, for asking the question weather Poyet's stand on the Suarez incident last season had any bearing on our lack of signing a certain type of player or maybe their desire to play for him(i.e sign for us). I felt this was harsh at the time, as all I did was raise the question, not make the comments in the first place. Poyet himself done that....I would like to add that I in no way think or am suggesting Poyet is racist or anti certain players, as I don't want to be told off again.

That is hilarious! If you still have that link PM it to me please?

Twice for me, once for reacting to an unprovoked attack by someone who's name escapes me (I'll remember it in a minute, I do remember that I never see him comment on any football related stuff, just the 'is god real' etc threads) and once for rearranging the c word by a mod i wont mention who assures me he has issued infractions to EVERYONE who has ever done it and definitely wasn't just picking on me!

It does appear that since we were promoted to the championship and made the Amex move and were 'reborn' if you like, that this place has changed somewhat. I expect it's because we are not 'small lower league Brighton' anymore like we were during the withdean years and that there is now more of a focus on us as a club and everything about it, including the fans most popular forum. I've actually refrained from swearing in this post, probably for the first time ever!
