Slaughtered, tortured, raped, paraded through the streets to be spat on by crowds, kidnapped...Including the innocent civilians savagely slaughtered on 7th October? Or is that just bleating too?

At least 9,000 children but many missingThey’ve been bleating about the loss of 200 soldiers - Jesus, how many innocent civilians have been killed?
No, I think we all accept that the initiation of all this was unacceptable and required a response. I was referring to Israel’s decision to send in its army, on top of its random bombing, and complain when they get killed.Including the innocent civilians savagely slaughtered on 7th October? If the Israeli army was 'random bombing' in such a densely populated area, then the figures would be astronomically higher than they're being quoted as. Not that any figure is a good figureNo, I think we all accept that the initiation of all this was unacceptable and required a response. There are sadly probably many 100s or 1000s still under the rubble on the many destroyed buildings so it will be higher if that pleases youIf the Israeli army was 'random bombing' in such a densely populated area, then the figures would be astronomically higher than they're being quoted as. Very weird thing to say. It doesn't please me in the least. ObviouslyThere are sadly probably many 100s or 1000s still under the rubble on the many destroyed buildings so it will be higher if that pleases you
Two wrongs do not make a right, everyone can see Israel's response is disproportionate. At least 9,000 children but many missing
From the 7/10 massacre
695 Israeli civilians, including 36 children as well as 373 security forces and 71 foreigners, giving a total of 1,139 and 8,000 injured
From the war in Gaza
figures harder to quantify but around 9,000 children (with 8,663 injured, 7,000 missing) from a total of 22,489 and 57,000 injured

If people try and win the higher moral ground based on numbers there’s no comparison and they should not be compared like this anyway - it’s not a competition. It’s heinous that people including foreigners died in on 7/10 and heinous that civilian casualties are continuing to mount up daily in Gaza.

Israel social security data reveals true picture of Oct 7 deaths
A more precise picture of Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel has emerged from social security data, confirming the unprecedented scale of the violence but also challenging some initial testimonies.www.france24.com
Shame we can't redirect more of it to Ukraine for a while.Unfortunately, the UK arms industry is waaaaaaaaay too profitable and powerful for that to ever happen.
The UK has about 15% of the entire global arms trade, worth billions. It's one of our biggest industries. Most of our sales go to the Middle East and most of that to Saudi.
It makes you wonder how a serious threat or a deadline regarding this might have carried some weight in trying to negotiate a ceasefire or peace agreement, though neither of our front benches are or were of that mind.Unfortunately, the UK arms industry is waaaaaaaaay too profitable and powerful for that to ever happen.

its certainly no precision strikes either. cant find it now, the amount of ordinance dropped in months to December was about same as in the number of years the US dropped in Iraq II.If the Israeli army was 'random bombing' in such a densely populated area, then the figures would be astronomically higher than they're being quoted as. The longer this goes on the more it looks like Israel is taking this opportunity with both hands to reach the end game of finally destroying the two party solution for good. Well let's call it what it is, genocide.its certainly no precision strikes either. cant find it now, the amount of ordinance dropped in months to December was about same as in the number of years the US dropped in Iraq II.
Israel dont care about the civilian collateral damage, because they dont want the Palestinians there anymore.
Well, the man who will have the best intelligence in the world, and the leader of Israel's greatest ally, described it as "indiscriminate bombing".its certainly no precision strikes either. cant find it now, the amount of ordinance dropped in months to December was about same as in the number of years the US dropped in Iraq II.

It was always the ‘endgame’ of the Religious Zionists of the Netanyahu regime for nearly a decade who have a ‘Greater Israel’ political ideology. The massacre on 7/10 simply provided the Religious Zionists that prop up the Netanyahu regime with what they thought would be their moral high ground from which they could justify it to the International community - “Expulsion of Hamas ( read that as ‘Palestinians’) from the OPT as an existential imperative for Israel facing annihilation from her neighbours” - many uninformed pro-Israel supporters have bought into the rhetoric condemning anyone that questions this perspective as anti-Semitic. The West and most of the Arab world was normalising relations with Israel before this attack - a relationship that was pressing very hard for a two state solution that neither Netanyahu nor Hamas wanted. What is chilling and as I said early in the thread, is that Israel is leading Gaza into the Abyss and risks dragging the whole of the ME with it and making it a self-fulfilling prophecy - we are another step closer to that now after the assassination of the deputy political leader of Hamas in Beirut. It is a very serious situation. The longer this goes on the more it looks like Israel is taking this opportunity with both hands to reach the end game of finally destroying the two party solution for good. The relevance of the Hamas actions is fading everyday when compared to Israel’s current policy. Bot like the Holocaust perhaps.Including the innocent civilians savagely slaughtered on 7th October? Or is that just bleating too?

I disagree. The Holocaust is used ad infinitum to justify Israel’s policy to defence, they are now committing ethnic cleansing and genocide themselves (albeit on a far smaller scale). If one country should be acutely aware of not going down the same extreme right wing route it is Israel. That second sentence is just not necessary.
