Knight and Gold are friends, the club couldn't and wouldn't make a statement
all the time that Gold is still involved with Birmingham.

Surely if it was complete rubish, the club wouldn't have either bothered to make a statement. Also, as others have said, the Argus would not print complete fiction so there must be some element of truth in it.

DK has done a great deal for the club and should never be forgotten but if any new investor comes in i doubt there will be a place for DK on the board. Maybe he just wants to see us through to Falmer and take the glory!!

there is of course another potential answer and that is that the argus has not printed anything innaccurate:

1) people on here (NSC) know David Gold and have mentioned investing in the Albion to him

That is the sum total of the argus piece. No quotes, no further details.

2) he has not approached the club - perhaps DK was simply clarifying this point at half time so as to avoid some supporters getting carried away. If nothing happens and Gold doesn't approach the club you can bet your bottom dollar that there are supporters who will say that DK had rejected an approach. If he had said nothing then rumours would have persisted and wild claims followed. By saying something then it may allow any thing happening to happen in the correct way. If there is nothing happening at all then he is right to say so.

I see no issue with either the Argus piece of the half time announcement.

Also - one other point. There are some on here who claim that some fans dont like 'people at the club talking to supporters other than themselves' however there are some who appear not to like the Chairman talking to ALL supporters.

I liked the remark from the bloke behind me as Knight announced there had been NO contact with David Gold:

"Well get on the f***ing PHONE then"

:lolol:

What was actually said was that there had been reports that the Albion had approached Gold for investment and that DK and the board wanted to categorically deny that. No mention of Gold contacting us, or that the two parties have even spoken, just that we haven't been trying to tap up Gold.

As said already, it may not be bollocks at all, just that at the moment things need to be sorted out at Gold's end before anything official can take place.

Argus says there has been 'contact' between DK/BHA and Gold - there hasn't been. No foundation for the story. DK wanted this point emphasised - Paul Samrah made sure iit was, over the PA. End of story on that one.
As for the wider point - whether anybody with 'lots of money' has the 'fans' support' to 'take over' our club...
well we all have different opinions about that.

Does that mean there was contact when there was talk of Maradonna and Ardiles taking over? :p

Your 2nd paragraph is the key. Perhaps he's like the uberfans on this board who don't want to see 'glory hunters' at Falmer. DK perhaps thinks he's a got a pre-ordained right to control BHA whatever and that he is BHA.

the way he preaches sometimes, i get the feeling that that could be the exact case

suspect the nonces at the arsegas read somewhere that some short sighted policeman thought he saw Gold's car in Brighton thereby exciting some debate amongst fans which they duly converted into an original and - of course - factual article.

that aside it would be inadvisable - because of league rules - to admit to anything even if there were some unofficial contact. Such demonstrable denial at such an early stage naturally fuels the speculation that there is no smoke without fire.

sorry Mr Hut but I find that comment neither accurate or helpful. I'm sure people would rather that a comment was made to all rather than to a few wherever and whoever makes it, be it Dave the Gaffers inside sources or the Chairman.

That is what people got yesterday so to criticise the person explaining the background is well...........a bit unhelpful really.

I wouldn't say it was a demonstrable denial, more a clarification to ensure some of our more 'passionate' fans didn't start running away with themselves.

yes, didn't you know. They had to wait in reception for a while cos the board were meeting the russian billionaires that had been overheard on the train by one of nsc's finest.

Whats the f***ing point of that? Sometimes this board and its little group of "friend" supporters are so up themselves!!

Take care,my friend.Opinions counter to the perceived NSC majority one are not acceptable.

Good call,though.
