half time announcement

that was shit , how about let the fans dream for an afternoon but no , we are playing like gash and we have to put the boot in and deny it ....WHY ??? what a lotof bollo ks

Er....DO YOU THINK THAT PERHAPS, IT WASN'T TRUE IN THE FIRST EFFING PLACE??

Why is the denial the problem here? If it ain't true, it ain't wrong to deny it.

You lot are sweating profusely, frothing at the gobs and GIBBERING - desperate to see money take over.
DK got The Albion to a Falmer ground prospect after 10 years of homelessness, and it's "okay, out you go, here's a rich geezer with a nice name to scoop the rewards".

Wake up , smell the coffee Knight has not got the money to take us the next step, or maybe you want a team of El Abds ( the man you spend your life championing) for the next ten years???

I don't and I doubt many Albion supportres do.

Knight WILL have to move over , get over it. Hopefully he will walk away with a few million and a permanent place on the board but he has not got what it takes to INVEST in the team and build Falmer without somebody putting in the money, I'd have though that was obvious. Only a fool would expect a millionaire to just hand DK the money and let him remain in overall control.

This announcement was probably a favour to Gold. Don't forget the League's rules about being involved in two clubs and there was a risk of Gold getting into trouble if there had been official talks maybe.

That's what I thought, just because you deny any direct contact doesn't mean there is no indirect contact.

Overall control, maybe not - but even the mega-rich chairman you are so ready to bend over frontwards for, has 'financial backing' - and the banks that support such wealthy people have some kind of faith that they have collateral.

DK has taken the club he chairs, to a point where he has 'collateral' in a Falmer Stadium go-ahead. That could attract investment from several quarters, and sponsorship in a big way.

Why then, place the whole ouvre in the lap of some 'rich git' who WASN'T ANYWHERE NEAR BHA WHEN THERE WAS NO STADIUM AND NO COLLATERAL??

You wake up and smell the effing coffee!

I personally couldn't get a f*** where he was when we didn't have the stadium. A respected name in football like David Gold would be an incredible coux if the club could get him to invest.

!

What is the attraction for investing in the stadium without actually having a controlling interest in it?

Genuine question, as it seems there are no "real" Albion fans willing or able to do a Jack Walker, if there were they would have made themselves known years ago. NOBODY is going to build a stdium for good old Dick Knight and the Albion for philanthropic purposes

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
He is currently facing a potential takeover at Birmingham, so I would imagine he does not want details of contact or potential invesments discussed by the media/fans etc. Having said that, Dick may be telling the truth and any future business may still take shape.

If that was the case BOF, I,m sure he wouldn,t have had an interview on SCR this week, or mentioned that he would like to invest in another club in the future.

But that is in the future. I am sure things would be much more difficult for him if it was ascertained that he was ready to invest in another club.

The announcement wasn't necessary imo unless DK will be doing the same at all home games for any strong rumours that might be good news for the Albion.

Bit small minded imo as well

I didn't think too much of it at the time but after reading your post, I think I'd agree. What it does make me think is that any takeover would be viewed as hostile (to DK, that is). If Gold comes in then DK would probably go, in that case. What do you think?

I wouldn't be happy but if DK will only move over kicking and screaming then so be it.

I know that sounds harsh but even after all he has done, and that is a massive amount, he is not BHA, just a passing custodian and that is the reality of it imo. History will remmebr him as the man who saved our club, that is a pretty good epitaph in itself isn't it?

I'd rather see him stay on in some capacity but perhaps his ego won't allow that??

Your 2nd paragraph is the key. Perhaps he's like the uberfans on this board who don't want to see 'glory hunters' at Falmer. DK perhaps thinks he's a got a pre-ordained right to control BHA whatever and that he is BHA.

If that's the case then it'll get very messy before DK inevitably loses.

I would think, rationally, that it would be a good idea. Would be difficult to control a club with DK looking over your shoulder all the time. It would be far more sensible for DK to leave the Board completely. He has done what he can, and should be proud of his achievements. It,s time for someone else with new enthusiasm and money to take us up to the next level.

steady, chaps. This is turning into a reasoned debate here - we don't want to give people the wrong impression of NSC now. ;)

Paul Samrah was on another planet today - childishly excited by the cricket and trying to be taken seriously about "Dick Knight not contacting Gold".. he didn't say Gold had not contacted DK, and isn't one of DK's football mates called Gold? - the miserable one who used to manage the shop, drives a flash sports car and gets a private parking space at Withdean, near Raggio, Chapman and FBS

Was Wlikins on the touchline at all today? couldn't see from the SS.

Have to agree, there is also the fact that crap as it might be, The Argus doesn't often just make up complete fiction.
