Neville has proven time and time again that he has no sense of humour and there isn't even a hint of a smile on his face, he is just being a petty little dickhead

Schmeichel sees the funny side of it.
Giggs, Scholes and Phil Neville all refuse to acknowledge him as well. It's clearly a pre-planned joke. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just looking for an excuse to take a pop.

As for blind defence, I actually think Ferguson, Scholes and Neville are all past it, amongst many other things.

It just riles me that people get their kicks out of "hating" man u, and whenever questioned why, the reasoning is always unbalanced (e.g Man U killed the fa cup, it's Man U's fault sky exists which has ruined football) bla bla bla

He set himself up for it by mouthing off in the press about Tevez. Prick.

I'm sorry WW but I'm with BoF on this one. It does seem to me that you're ALWAYS popping up on threads in blind defence of Manchester United and to write the above clip off as a bit of a joke between old pals is being short sighted and naive.

Neville has proven time and time again that he has no sense of humour and there isn't even a hint of a smile on his face, he is just being a petty little dickhead

I don't think it was a joke either. But I understand that it is someone who is so pumped and focused that shaking hands before the match with the rival team is not top of the agenda. As such I don't think he's a dickhead in this particular case. Would be interesting to know what happened at the end of the match between the two though

I can't be bothered to have this argument again.

Tell you what, I'll just carry on disliking Manchester United and you can continue to support them.

It really isn't very important to me

Brilliant. It's unbalanced when someone dislikes Man U, but balanced when someone likes them.

No one's ever said Man U killed the FA Cup.

No one's ever said it's solely Man U's fault that Sky exists.

Man U have however, played a part (thats a part) in commercialising and monopolising the game which has in turn, contributed to the game becoming less competitive and more money-driven resulting in clubs spending beyond their means and acquiring foreign tycoons who don’t understand the culture of football. Add to this that Ferguson (the clubs biggest ambassador) is a complete arse, and you haven’t got a great formula for likeability, have you?

The fact you get 'riled' by people who have reasonable substance behind their dislike is a little odd. Maybe it's time you accepted that people have fair reasoning behind disliking Man U?

Incidentally, if you think the above is 'unbalanced', what exactly would you consider a balanced point for disliking Man U? Or are we not allowed one because ‘everyone hates Man U cause they’re good’? Undoubtedly there are some in that boat. But don’t tarnish everyone who doesn’t particularly like them with the same brush.

Actually, I was referring mainly to cretins like your mate Conboy, who HAS more or less said those very arguments.

Keep puting others down to make you feel better

Which arguments? The ones that are perfectly valid or the 'cause they're good' one? Because I've never heard or see him use that. I've seen him use the perfectly valid ones on here a few times though. Along with BoF and Bluejuice - are they cretins too?

The first two you cite in your post.

He appears to simultaneously represent every thing that is good and bad about football in this country with nothing in between.

I'm not sure whether to think of him as a man of contradictions or simply a grumpy little hypocrite.

That's enough about Withdean Wanderer, I couldn't care less about Gary Neville.

Yeah.

That's just not true. I could probably find threads to prove it, but I'll let him do that if he's really bothered.

Unless of course you've had an argument in person with him about it and he used those arguments. But I wouldn't expect him to have done.

Methinks you just said his name because you know I know him and you're not particularly fond of him for whatever reason.

Can't find the thread that i was referring to where I had a pointless 8 page debate about it, but all the points were debated are pretty much included in that post, and I can't really be arsed to trawl through looking for a couple of specific threads where I've argued about it with him.

So no, I didn't just say his name because I know you know him.

All I would say is this: Man U have many flaws, and they have some good points, but it can be tiresome reading anti-United posts that follow a particular agenda and don't really take into account much of the bigger picture. I'm not going to sit here and debate something that's been done to death though.

I just think Neville mainly gets a hard time because he's United through and through.

If you had witnessed Whiteside's tackle on Ramsey first hand (it was partially missed by the cameras) you would struggle to identify their good points.

Believe me.

Not sure why we're debating another user but as you've provided the link to the thread it's only fair I reply.

"No one's ever said Man U killed the FA Cup.

Is what I said earlier and are the arguments you attributed to conboy. When in actual fact it seems his argument is pretty similar to mine and others on here. He's just a little more forthright with it. Doesn't make it any less reasonable.

If anything, the arguments put forward are taking the bigger picture into account as they focus on off-field matters and the indirect impact Man U have had.

And I don't want to sit here and debate something that's been done to death either. But when someone else sparks it and unfairly labels others (interpreted to be myself) then I can't help but debate it again.

I agree with WW. Almost completely. I still find Neville's celebrations in front of the Liverpool some of the funniest and most genuine scenes in footballing history (sniggers at remembering the footage :lolol: ). He's a genuine Man Utd fan, and he's acting as such. They lost, he flicked the bird. If they win, he celebrates like an idiot. I've nothing against that in the slightest, but I do have something against using his blind love of the club against him. I'd love to have a team full of Brighton players who did that. In fact, next time we beat Palace, if the entire SQUAD doesn't start celebrating in front of the Selhurst faithful by beating their chests and desperately trying to find the club badge on the shirt (again, sniggers at remembering the footage! :lolol: ), then they're not fit to play for the club!

Gary Neville.

I've lived in Manchester most of my life, and hate United because most of my mates are Citeh fans and United are a bunch of f***ing twats

Having said that, I'll happily scab a ticket for OT whenever one is around
