Yep, It also feels like a Bloom appointment, so does Hyppia but hes seems to have proved a bit more than Hyppia.

He hasn't appointed a previously sacked manager yet, rules Hyypia out then.

Who cares, he's not British and 'doesn't know the Championship'

You forgot to add that all foreign managers are shit in the Championship to boot ???

Again a left field choice who record appears good. Maybe some decent contacts as regards players. Just looked and not including those offered but not yet signed we have 13 players only on the books. If Bloom thinks he is the one then lets get it done and get done to planning next season.

People always trot out this "contacts" notion, but does it ever actually mean anything ? So what if he knows loads of people, if they don't sign for us it doesn't matter. All of OGs alleged contacts did us no good. It's seems to me quite rare that managers bring players with them.

In that case, it's all written in black and white. Fred Hantz is going to be our next manager. Considering Bloom and Barber are at the football league meeting until tomorrow, I'm going to guess it will be announced sometime on Monday.

Has Hantz been sacked yet? He left Le Harve when his contract expired.

He was sacked by Sochaux.

"L'aventure tourne court dans le Doubs, car après une élimination au premier tour en UEFA et en Coupe de la ligue, et alors que le club ne compte que deux victoires après 17 journées pour une avant-dernière place au classement, il est démis de ses fonctions le 12 décembre 2007."

According to the Argus, Hantz has a record of winning promotion on tight budgets. What's not to like.

But it's not promotion from the Championship, so that rules him out straight away................

The Argus article also indicates he is intelligent, so maybe would be able to get his head around the championship, and he has been well liked by fans. he was impressed by how much the club knew about European Football. I have a feeling this is it.

But I'd also be fairly happy with Hyppia.

looks like the Argus like to kiss a bit of 4r5e now and again. I guess Naylor's not back from holiday yet.

It is understood he was flattered by Albion’s knowledge of his achievements in France and hugely impressed by the depth of their scouting across Europe for a new boss.

I'd be happy with either Hantz or Hyypia to be honest, either would be streets ahead of some of the "Mike Bassett England Manager" types that some on here have been calling for.

Another high rollers gamble on some bloke nobody has ever heard of. Will he have a smashing personality too? Will he have to spend an entire season finding his feet in the Championship? Will his interviews be slightly less interesting than a snail race?

Looks like we are looking for another zombie that is prepared to work under the Burke transfer regime with no questions asked.

Oh look, he's French, gotta be good. No fu**ing thanks

Well put. A lot of people seem to be in the " he is foreign he must be good " camp. What standard is the french leagues 2 and 3 ? Everyone thought Garcia would bring a blend of exciting, flair football and well, point made.

Not to sound pessimistic but If we go get this guy Is It just goes to show we're dong things on the cheap again. When's the club going to realize. You're not going to get anywhere on a shoestring. Sure there was Palace but they got LUCKY.
