Their letter sums up just what they are, a group of people who really are of no significance with ideas way above their station. I'm a parish councillor and all we really have influence on is cutting the grass and where to site a new dog turd bin. I bet they have really loved all the attention they have attracted over the past few years and they have been succesful in halting the stadium and almost putting the Albion out of business.

They have the cheek to say that the final decision is political rather based on planning. The fact that they have been able to cause so much trouble for so long is political. If the stadium was being sited at the back of Moulscombe we would have been playing there by now because the residents there do not have friends in high places.

I feel sorry for those in Falmer that have genuine concerns, but hopefully they will come to realise that it not the end of the world for them. However I hope Falmer Parish Council are feeling humiliated tonight.

Also what has happened to the LDC councillors, such as Neil Commin, who said he would resign if the decision went against them.

Actually, he did resign (though not for that reason), and did not stand for re-election in May.

How will his business be severely impacted. I've looked at the inlays of the stadium impression on another thread and it seems to be well away from his farm shop. And I note that last June, the B&H council (as owner of the freehold) disposed of around 8 acres. He rents nearly 620 acres from the council between the A27 and the nearby village of Falmer. Approximately 180 acres of land is situated to the west of the B2123 (Falmer Road).

Personally it has been a long drawn out battle which has been fought bitterly and contested to the hilt.

We appear now to have won which was the main objective and the previous application did have an error in it.

I really don't care for any gloating, we have what we wanted - be happy !

A football stadium to be built on a ploughed field next to a dual carriageway, which will be in use for approximately 23 days out of 365 every year?

I appreciate it's an emotive issue for all parties involved, but I'm not sure "tragedy" is remotely appropriate in the circumstances. FFS.
