Here's a couple of excellent Australian bands that few heard of outside their native land (or even inside their native land come to that)
Noiseworks, whose second album is top quality and rocks! 'River of Tears' has to be one of the better guitar classic-rock tunes by anyone.
Not Drowning, Waving. Somewhat artistic, very obviously talented, and way ignored.
Hear them if you can!

Noiseworks recently reformed for a tsunami benfit gig
at the Opera House .

My favourite live band of the 80's were "Man" Did anyone else see the Welsh rockers at the Dome?

I saw them in Stevenage in 1969 !
Perhaps not the same "Man"?

Fair dinkum? was it videotaped?

have you heard Not Drowning Waving cobber?

It was 'live' on primetime tv .
Noiseworks were one of a numerous amount of acts
lending their support to a 4 hour telethon appeal .
I assume you did know that Jon Stephens fronted INXS
for a year or so .

Neither Noiseworks or Not Drowning Waving appeal to my taste
in music , I prefer ska & punk myself .

Yes, I heard something along those lines. Was it always a temporary thing or did he leave for other reasons?

I worked on their 'Elegantly Wasted' cd (cover shoot almost under the Los Angeles 10/110 freeway junction) and the INXS lads were very affable chappies.
I hear they are currently auditioning for a new lead singer Worldwide.

Skintagain 1983

And Smith Did Score!
1919- After the Fall...

Red Guitars (saw them support Morrisey at Dundee University in 1984)

Redskins - top drawer band .. even made an impact amongst YLT - Young Leith Team in Edinburgh.

Serious Drinking...
I left my brand new copy of their album at a bus stop at Bear Road / Lewes Road one Saturday in 1981/2/3... I'd been doing some serious drinking.

Television Personalities - saw them at the Brighton Art College Basement in the 80's. Grand total of 16 people including the band, doorman and roadies and the audience. Thanks for the sandwiches and orange juice guys!

Daddy Yum Yum - most Sundays at the Alhambra.
