Good grief Martyn, that's like saying a newly opened McDonalds on the M4 is a new company.

These jokers are supposed to be specialists at stadium catering, and as for giving them time, I can only assume you haven't been a regular at The Amex because every one of the previous incumbents have been as bad.

Today I went to The Swan for the first time before the game when the rest of my lot went to the stadium, I was the only one who was happy about beer and food.

All those working for the caterers are locally hired, most are students and they do not do this everyday, it was their first time give them a break. Mistakes were made and I am sure they will be sorted. For those who did the other matches it was their 4th time, very few were around last season.
And I was there for all but 4 games last season including the reading game so I have seen it a few times in every stand but the south.

All I am saying is like the team itself lets give them a couple of goes to get this right.

Ok then. A couple of seasons ago i ventured into the away ends concourse. They are probably aware of the away attendance, anywhere between 264 (Barnsley) and 2,200 (Leeds) and there were no problems. I happened to venture into that parallel life when Notts Forest were at the Amex......no wonder they go home happy and well oiled and fed.
Maybe the company have not worked out the figures, pints, pies and punters over a certain amount eh??

Iv'e been going to the Swan since day one, i used to leave early to get a pint in the ground, now i leave later and just use the toilet in the NS concourse.

Martyn, I love the way you stand up for the club, I really do. If you are happy to have the same shambles every game since the stadium opened then good for you. My custom went elsewhere for the first time today i can tell you that it was a hugely better experience than the concourses.

£3.30 a pint.
£2.50 for a shit load of chips.
Didn't have a burger or Hot Dog but from what I saw they looked bloody good.

And this is at a small pub 5 minutes away from the ground catering for a huge amount of people on a very irregular basis, if they can do it with temporary marquees why cant Sodexo do it with every thing in place?

Agree,If you were the caterer....do you make 800 pies and run short...or do you bake 2,000 pies and have loads left over to waste ?

The quality of staff seems a big factor, the Middle WSU lot looked like rabbit's in headlights................................no sorry, dead rabbits in headlights.

The Swan is a lovely place, I have spent many happy hours there in the past, just not suitable my personal needs now. During the whole of last season when I moved around game to game I never had a problem getting what I wanted before a match whether it was burger, pie or drink. Today is the first time in over 20 games I have been disappointed so I guess it's about our own experiences. If we go through Burnley and Millwall and it's still screwed up my tone will change I promise.
I will not discuss the currently available hotdogs as they are an abomination in the sight of God (and that's from an atheist)

You ENQUIRE and find out how many pies are GENERALLY sold on past seasons games. Either the club will have the information, or the company that supplies the pies.
Pies keep, if it looks like there will not be enough pies for H/T and F/T because they often run out pre match, then surely 45-90 mins allows enough time to cook and stock up. Two previous seasons, known attendances, known ST should be a clue eh.

Great experience today. Quick service, hot, tasty pie. Friend was also pleased at the sweet stand in WSU.

Everything was perfect for us in WSU....shame about the football.

I had the worst pie I've had at the Amex so far today (it was still quite nice). The pastry was undercooked so it was a bit stodgy and sat very heavily in my stomach. But it was still packed with meat so it was quite nice.

This will happen season after season with staff turnover near the 100% mark , they will be crap for a couple of months and if they don't jack it in because they are not suited will get better with the experience and then move on to something better as a casual agency worker once the season has ended and so the cycle begins again.

Anyone who is still paying way over the odds for largely shit food and entirely hit-and-miss service/quality must be a total mug. It costs £3.90 for a pie/burger/hot dog and £2.20 for a drink. Seriously, take that much money into Tesco on your way to the stadium and see how much you get for it. Probably about three times as much as you will in the ground. The only thing it is in any way justifiable to purchase at The Amex is alcohol, purely because it's your only chance to do so. I've no sympathy for the gullible idiots who will queue ten deep for a tiny dried up burger at almost £4 a go.

Tescos football is shit though.
