I'm merely pointing out that I used the "N" word and "P" word within the context of a joke and it was deemed offensive enough to warrant a banning. But then we can have jokes about a little girl who's missing and possibly murdered and thats deemed acceptable! Sorry but I see that as double standards.

I really wouldn't try and play the moral/intellectual high ground when arguing this point, not given what you got banned for.

I don't particularly see it as double standards. I appreciate that the lines are perhaps not entirely clear, but there is a difference I think between something that is in bad taste and something that is offensive. On NSC it seems to be majority rule; while the mods make the ultimate decision, the response a post gets from the populace of the board seems to define it. Personally I find the McCann jokes in bad taste, and racism offensive. But then at the same time, I found most of the Bernard Manning stuff offensive, and other people found it in bad taste (and I'm not precluding bad taste from being funny).

I can understand the accusations of double standards, but whilst I am confident there is no one on NSC who would want any harm to come to a child, and everyone wants the Madeline to be found safe and well, there is a vocal minority who are racist and bigoted.

As for the comparison with racist jokes, there is a subjective line of tolerance on any subject. I don't know what you posted to get banned BB but given how flexible the mods are I am confident that you crossed that line. You got banned, get over it.

I don't think the Pork Sword got banned, per se. I think he just dribbled on his keyboard so much that he electrocuted himself - banning by proxy, I think we call it.
