Evening. I didn’t say all schools but a majority of English children are being held back from progressing and Labour don’t seem to care. They like to sit back and if anyone complains then they’re racists, just like mainstream people about immigration. Say anything about it and you’re deemed a racist, but all depends on where you come from, luckily I don’t have any migrants etc where I live. Should I care? Of course, because when I see British children held back because of people who cant speck the native language then the native students should be taught individually, not to would British kids back. The education has declined over the 10 years, anyway, don’t think we’ll agree as I’m not in the circle of friends. I really need that bed.

You don't have any migrants where you live but you see (with your eyes?) British children being held back?
British children are born here. British children are brown, black, yellow and white. They spek (sic) the language better than you.

I wasn't going to be drawn into this but having lived in West Yorkshire for 33 years I am very used to living and working with immigrants.
My children went to school with them. I am very proud of the schooling that they received. My son is a Station Officer in the Fire Brigade and my daughter is a Chartered Tax Accountant.
Going to school and living with immigrants of all nationalities certainly didn't hold them back. Their lives were enriched by learning about all the different cultures around them.

Yes Yorkie but they went to school before this labour Govt was in power !!

I have friends and inlaws still living in Yorkshire. My sister in law lives in Sheffield and works in a school. I have three nephews still at school there. Not much has changed.

I must confess I have never considered New Labour a socialist organisation.

Why does the far right run around with this impression?

What amazes me is how people who are involved in political parties like the BNP, take some very small issues, talk them up a treat so they sound like they are issues which are important to the national psyche, and then use these overhyped "facts" to recruit those people in society who are impressionable, young, and who are gullible.

Its like the Daily Mail of political parties. Sad, misguided and re-gurgitating the fodder fed to them by their power hungry leaders....

I can't believe people can be this naive...surely people like Pauline Hansen should be rolled out at this juncture....

BTW - I like God Save the Queen, but I can see peoples problem with it....so in replacement Jerusalem would be a fine anthem, as long as people understand its religious background, and not its rubgy background!

For my sins, I have just read this entire thread from the beginning. Nobody can give me those twenty minutes of my life back, so I might as well throw in my tuppence-worth...

1. Jerusalem makes me very emotional. It is very personal for me as it was played at the funeral of my murdered best freind, when I was 18. It is an incredibly stirring piece, though I'm not sure it really works as our anthem, a. because too many people would fail to understand it properly, in the non-literal sense it was intended, and b. because a new anthem if chosen should be non-religious.

2. Land of Hope and Glory, is almost an English anthem already, used as it is for our athletes at the Commonwealth Games. Good song - a lot more rousing than GSTQ anyway.

3. Oceanic. Why bother enbarrassing yourself to this degree. With every garbled post you seem less and less rational. What with that and the use of 'cut and paste' you are turning into 'BNP Buba'.

4. TLO. Why are you allowing yourself to be drawn in to such an extent. Let it go. You cannot 'win' a rational argument against an irrational person.

5. Just for the record, I vote Labour and I would be very very offended by the suggestion that I were racist.

Don't think the "far right" see the Labour party as a socialist organisation.

Why do the far left see the BNP as A Nazi organisation?

We are all pretty versed on what the BNP think about immigration and law and order, stop the first and the second will go away...bollocks!

I would be interested to hear how they are going to improve education and the health service, the latter of which is broadly dependant on nurses from places like the Phillipines, Finland and the Commonwealth...in addition, we don't have enough dentists in the country as it is, how will we get our teeth filled without resorting to Poles, Hungarians and Asians...they will rot my friends!

Don't get me started on plumbers.

We are wholly committed to a free, fully funded National Health Service for all British citizens. We will revitalise the Health Service by boosting staff and bed numbers, slashing unnecessary bureaucracy and by addressing the root cause of low recruitment and retention - low pay. We will see to it that no money is given in foreign aid while our own hospitals are short of beds and the staff to run them. More emphasis must be placed on healthy living with greater understanding of sickness prevention through physical exercise, a healthier environment and improved diets.
