what happened to players being chosen on form? What form have heskey and walcott shown? Jobs for the boys as usual. Terry can f*** off as well.

Ah right, that would make sense then. Didn't know he was injured!

I do feel a bit of sympathy with Shawcross, it's one of those things that just appeared to be a bit of a freak injury. Everyone mis-times tackles or can go in a little higher than anticipated. On another day that would have harmlessly skimmed off his shin pad and no one would have made much of it! Seemed he got a bit of a nudge off Bentner as he was going in for the tackle which would obviously make a difference as well.

Are you still playing on Sunday evenings? My Sunday league side should finish in a month or so and I wouldn't mind playing the odd game if needed.

Yep, the nudge from Bentdner did him no favours but he's very unlucky that Ramsey planted his right foot on the ground. Had it been off the ground, he would have gone flying through the air but been fine. Ironic, really. Very unlucky, but as I said somewhere else, that's the fine margins of football.

Yep, we're still going. One or two new faces since you played for us, but it's mostly the same group. We're struggling, mind! I think I've still got your number, so if we do get short then I'll give you a shout. We do lack presence at the back!

Heskey what the f*** ? he doesn't even play and Crouch brings nothing to the squad i would rather Kevin Davies and Michael Owen , where the hell is Ashley Young ?

How can you say Crouch brings nothing to the squad? He gives England a completely different outlet and defenders have no idea how to deal with his aerial threat. Agree with you about heskey though,he's fine when it's up in the air but simply not good enough on the ground - Crouch is.

Zamora is INJURED !!!!!!!!!!!! How many times.... I reckon he would have been there instead of Cole.

Downing isn't that bad really, had some
good ges for Villa

I had a pretty similar injury to Ramseys at 14 which put an end to my grass hockey olympic hopes. Took a year to recover and my knee has never been quite right again ( although doctors said I wouldnt be able to walk with a stick after 40 if I continued to play sport... which I did in a limited fashion until last year at 42)... so feel for Ramsey but it wasn't that bad a tackle... just one of those things.. Ramsey had his foot on the ground.... upper half of leg had momentum but lower half was pushed back by the tackle and CRUNCH.

Certainly shouldnt stop Shawcross being picked.

I cant believe people actually thought he'd get a call up, and were/are just blinded by the fact that he's an albion hero.

I dont class Zamora as an Albion hero. I stopped looking at players like that when it got to a point where I was older than them. He was a good player but I dont look at him in the same light as I do about Garry Nelson & John Byrne for instance.

That said, there is no way in my mind that Heskey or Cole should be in there above Zamora.

He might play today. He's due to have a fitness test before the ggame.

He'll probably be perfectly fine by Wednesday.

I think that Zamora & Rooney would be even better. We would then have 2 strikers that can put the ball in the net rather than one and I think that Zamora could do the Heskey job just as well as Heskey does it himself.

Heskeys hold up game is miles ahead of Zamora's in my view

I disagree there. I think Zamora has probably overtaken him this season. Some of his one-touch lay-offs to bring others into play are immense. Zamora seems to be Fulham's MOM nearly every week - even when he doesn't score.

heskey is in the squad simply because he brings out the best in rooney - and if you get the best out of him, then you will always stand a chance

wouldnt be suprised to see milner play part of this game at left back. downing has been good for villa recently, although i still would have had young in in place of walcott as he has been shit since coming back from injury

would have had zamora in the squad over carlton cole, but anybody who thinks he should be starting ahead of heskey or crouch is wearing very albion-tinted glasses
