Hmmm I think in the vicinity of the ground i'd actually head the other way to Tescos. Neither are my faves but at least the Arlington Arms & Alexander Arms aren't dog rough.

I was in the Arlington the other day and it is dog rough, although friendly enough. The Alexandra Arms is actually fairly quaint in the back room bar with loads of speciality ales and superb pork scratchings etc

I tend not frequent that part of town pubwise preferring the Greenhouse in town and The Lamb in Old Town. By all accounts the food in the Alexandra is OK.

Ironically my local is the Martello which is seriously rough hence i've been in there once ever.

Dariana does indeed still own the Greenhouse and that's where i spent the New Year. Buffet upstairs,band,karoke and lock in till 4.30 Lubbly jubbly!

Maxim used to be OK but the greedy landlord ruined it when he turned the downstairs into a club.
