Will we sign a loan striker in time to play on Saturday?

"Lots of plates spinning" according to Burke

Isn't that EXACTLY what Wurzel said before signing 18 no hopers and trying to panic buy our best players? ???

It's all getting a bit like the Withdean years when the club would claim to be chasing several top targets and then **** all would happen
This. I've given up caring, tbh, as it won't make much difference - we're not going up and we're not going down. As I said last week, with that in mind I'd rather they took a punt on some of our development squad.

And I'm sick of the club spouting bullshit about how they are trying their best to get players in. Just tell us when you've actually got something worthwhile to say.

I think someone will come in, but not until Thursday, so that the club can maximise the number of games that the player is available for (assuming the loanee is on the maximum 93-day loan).

This and that bullshit being spouted by certain people is to justify their existence.

If we don't then it's high time Dickenson got a chance from the bench. (Instead of having 4 midfielders in reserve).
In my opinion he is quick, very strong and in the same vein as Ince would benefit from the boost in confidence by being selected.

Sorry Grandad.

I'll go for yes, with it occuring on or after Thursday to allow the loan to cover another game.

I would like to say yes, but I've almost given up caring; and for the club to say that we're running out of time to get someone in before the Yeovil game is just a joke. How much ******** longer do they need?

Got to stick with yes but we've lost points already due to this let alone last season when we missed out on promotion by a few points and played the last couple months with 1 striker.

I think if no one comes in and we don't get a result Saturday then even the calmest posters are going to be having hissy fits.

Love for it to happen but don't believe it will...

The chances of getting a match-fit striker who can slot into our way of playing with one training session who wants to come to us and we can afford to pay (whatever proportion of his wages we are required to) is so slim as to be not worth worrying about.

I only hope that we look to the dev squad and build up the talent within. It will take a while to get those we already have up to standard but it will happen if they are given the chance.

I am finding it a little bizarre, that this is still on going.
We ended last season knowing we needed forward cover, and still nothing.

It certainly makes me wonder what constraints David Burke and his team are working under.

Do you think those constraints have altered since the start of the loan transfer window. Burke promised the fans early signings within this window and how he had list of players lined up. What do you think has changed then?

If it does go ahead, it will be as close to the game as possible, which makes total sense, to get him on loan for the longest period of time possible, signing a striker before the break would have been a stupid idea. might have pleased the fans, but it would literally make no sense to have done so.
