Looks like we are being quite active this window.
Confirmed already for this window:
Watson for c £10m
Boscagli free
Strongly rumoured:
Koustoulas £34m
Ounahi £10m
Coppola £10m

Total outlay c £64m

Possible outs: wild guesses on values
Joao Pedro £60m
O’Riley £20m
Enciso £30m
Sima £5m
Total c £115m

Total profit around £50m

I’d be quite happy with that if it meant we kept Mitoma.
You’ve just took a £10m loss on Matt O in less than 12 months. Glad TB’s in charge.

I can't quite see us getting £30m for Enciso with a year left on his contract. Here's hoping though.

10m for a 21 year old italian international seems insane price

Lots of games in serie A , looks great signing this one
Couldn’t agree more.
Very exciting.

Not jumping on the Cashin bandwagon, but if we do sign two new CBs, where does that leave him?

Igor may be going.
West Ham allegedly interested in Webbo (though selling would be a mistake IMO)
Dunk, with a good preseason, could well be a force again.
JPvH playing well

Might be because everything is settled, we've got a manager who has been discussing needs for months now, and has asked to get as many in for pre-season training. We also don't need too much in the way of incomings, and we're also now a stable PL club with a growing reputation. Those with the biggest reputations tend to get their transfer activity done earlier in the window/s.
We have, but goes back to our discussion the other day.
You keep the core and continue to strengthen, with the turnover being squad players, hence O’Riley may well be one if the right bid comes in.

What are your thoughts on Pedro?

Feels like this might be an opportunistic purchase (at a good price) while also being a possible succession plan for van Hecke. Could be wrong though, seems great value.

I may be wrong but didn't people say on here that Fab favours playing 3 CB's with wing backs? So we'd need to stock up in the CB department?
Wasn’t it two CB but out of possession one of our DCM dropping into the backline and defending as a 5-4-1?

Pre season it was assumed it would be Baleba but we don’t seem to set up like that.

Where does that leave Cashin? Sadly for him, same as now. Not part of the matchday squad.

I did respond to a Newcastle fan on my assessment of him.
A few on here are saying that posters seem to want him to go. I don't think that's right, as most of us rate him highly. That said, his behaviour towards the end of the season seems to point towards wanting out. And if Joao Pedro and a few others (eg Enciso, Sarmiento, Igor, Sima, ...) are out, I'd be happy so long as it meant: 1, we get incomings that enhance our squad (which seems to be happening and early); and 2, we keep key members that will be highly coveted for next season -- here, Baleba, Mitoma and JPVH I have in mind.

I do hope we’re going to give Coppola and Boscagli more of a chance than we’ve given Cashin.

I’m personally of the opinion that bringing new CBs into the team is harder than any other position (except possibly GK) since every error could potentially lead to conceding.

I remember how relentlessly the opposition targeted JPvH in his first couple of matches, he found his feet fairly quickly, but was definitely being targeted as a potential “weak spot” to begin with. I can’t hand on heart say I’ve seen enough of Cashin to form a definite opinion, and I’m surprised that others believe they have.

Keeping Mitoma would make this an absolutely amazing window!

I'd throw in Cuaibano as a possible in and possibly, Pervis to Man Utd as a possible out. Plus Igor leaving.

There will also be a lot of loans a usual.

I don't see us playing three at the back. Maybe as an occasional option, but I think we will primarily stay 4-2-3-1

For the right centre back option, I think we will go into the season with Van Hecke first choice, Webster 2nd, then Veltman could do a job in a injury crisis

For left centre back, I think Dunk will remain first choice. Boscagli, will be first back up, though he could also feature at left back. Igor and Cashin will be moved on. Coppola if we sign him, I think will be loaned. Although if Dunk still isn't recovered from what it was that was troubling him, then we'll likely keep him around and let him fight for that LCB spot

Not sure we would loan out an Italian international.

After he was rated as one of Italy's best players against Norway in a 0-3 defeat, he had this to say.

“I don’t know if I was Italy’s best player, but I certainly have to take some of the blame for this 3-0 defeat. This was not the debut I was hoping for. We had completely the wrong approach, our first shot on goal came at the 80th minute. I feel bad for the Italian fans, we have to do better in the next game.

“We were making mistakes with even the simplest passes, which allowed Norway to go on the counter-attack. We should’ve had a different interpretation of the game. We made mistakes on their goals and I take my own share of that blame. We knew what they were going to do and still got it wrong.

All the Norway goals were similar, they all came with runs from deep. We should’ve done better.”

I like his attitude. Very much in the JPvH mould in terms of having high standards as a young lad
