All our normal adverts gone. Pre-match build up gone. GOSBTS played before teams came out and not faded. Big screen different (teams?). Whilst I cant say exactly what it was, it was lots of small differences that made the Euro game different to our normal games. I didn't get the tingle I expected when the teams came out.
Even every mention of American Express (with the exeption of the new signs cleverly installed under the roofs) were removed.
The whole evening just seemed wrong.

The big screen graphics are awful. No teams, and when the subs came up you could barely see the names such was the size of the font.
Why were there no line-ups? Is that a Uefa diktat? Bizarre.

You like familiar adverts ?

Need to add ‘losing’ to your list….for the moment anyway.

Why were front 4 rows of N and S covered? The ad boards behind the goals were no bigger than normal, were they??

The usual team listings on the big screen would've been useful to know how many yellow cards they'd accumulated throughout the 90 mins as well! It was 7 apparenty - didn't UEFA used to dish out fines for that many?

Why were the front few rows of the north also covered?
So that the adverts on the screens around the pitch stand out better for TV. Advertising is more important than the game and fans. I think that was the problem, as fans we were second to all the comercialism.
Incidently, what happened to the 200 away F&F seats in the Upper East for which our STH where moved. I was next to this block and it was all Albion

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
It's supposed to be different.

It's supposed to be the biggest game in our history.

I felt the same. Very sterile as if each team playing in the Europa Legaue have to the same bland advertising boards and screen displays. The Europa anthem was very unininspiring. Players just walked out onto the pitch with 3 mascots dressed in the Eurpopa league kit. All formulaic and no club specific individuality allowed.

The massive sign was well shit - I want to see who gets yellows etc and they stopped the timer at 45 mins so no idea how many minutes into extra time it was.

Timer always stops on 45 and 90 but usually we have the clock time so can work out when whistle should blow. Pain, I had to keep checking my watch.
