I really don't know yet. I did Film Studies (not production) so it hasn't help me get a job but long term I want to be a filmmaker so will have to wait and see.

Sad to say but it was absolutely crucial. Little short of life-changing, in fact. Seriously.

(And yes I DID drink a lot and cop off with loads of birds etc etc etc. OBVIOUSLY)

My current job, which keeps the wolf from the door, came as a direct related to the extra-curricular stuff I did at uni - writing bollox for the uni magazine I mean, not the pulling etc. Because my current boss also gave me my first proper job 14 years ago with a different employer and they wanted proof that I really wanted to be a journalist. Plus getting a good grade there was a big surprise and very confidence-providing at an age with a lot of uncertainty really.

Yes - without my degree I wouldn't be here now... Sadly its more the letters after my name that have got me work permits and visas for various countries and not so much what I learnt!

Same here. The only reason I can get a visa for Japan is that I have a degree.

Yes. I wouldn't have got the job I have now without it, although it is not entirely tailored to my degree.

I am looking to do a masters soon with the OU, but out of interest as opposed to anything else.

I didn't so much learn stuff about my current job but having a degree in computing got me into a decent job as a graduate where I got myself all trained up and then moved for more money and then did it again for more money so wihtout it I would had to start form a far lower level in the first place.

Alas, no, didn't make the most of it, but a post-grad course did the trick, so studies are very important in your career.

I have used some of the things I learnt in further study, but none of it in my job.

Used my degree to get a job, decided I did not like the job so taught others to do the job, did not like teaching the job so used the teaching to get into university again, but on better money than I could expect without it.

I have to agree with a lot of this. I learnt a lot academically, and moving to London was probably the greatest thing I ever did. It totally opened my eyes and made me realise a lot and understand a lot about life.
