Might it not be the case that one sign that McGhee had "lost the team" was that they began to believe that he was more interested in extra-curricular activities (not just golf, apparently) than turning up at training sessions?

If a player showed that attitude, it would have to be dealt with.

they could have thrown him off the bus I suppose?

I'll get me coat:ohmy:

well put it this was, I was given this info from someone who has nothing whatsoever to do with the Albion in any shape or form, he got the info from an acquaintance.

Whether it is true is another thing however a while back i spotted MM with a young lady (he has good taste) having lunch in hove, so there may be some truth in the this.
He also said there was another reason but I won't post as it, as I would want proof.

and before LI goes north, I didn't want MM sacked, i was hoping that he would stay handover responsibility to DW between now and the end of the season.

But you did refer to my response to that comment as an example of your case, which is total double standards.

I'm sorry we have such differing views on the Albion, Uncle Buck, but I will not be silenced by personal attacks that you draw a blind eye to, or even which you join in with as the mood suits you.

But your whole double standards thing is a personal attack and so bringing you down to the same level.

But then again it has come to be accepted.

DTG - as I said some hours ago - not worth bringing up the subject - you didn't need hindsight to see the division it would cause at a time when we should be trying to pull together.

Nice work - I hope your SCR efforts are more unifying.

Enjoy the game tomorrow - SEAGULLS

I would say the campaign against Mark McGhee is heading even further into the gutter than I ever thought possible.

Let's take it a bit further down. Who's this Sussex heiress McGhee is/was seeing?

But what team menber has gone on the record about this appallingly gossipy trivia, even hinted at it? Both Gary Hart and Guy Butters expessed their shock and dismay on the record at McGhee's dismissal, why would they have done that if they thought he was acting so unprofessionally?

This kind of gossip is sadly typical when you are looking for a reason to get rid of someone.

Of course it was nothing to do with half the board wanting him out. It was nothing to do with a vocal campaign by a vociferous minority of fans. It was all down to McGhee's personal failings? How convenient.

Memo to Mark McGhee - never have lunch with an attractive woman if you want to keep your job :jester:

To be honest, if people are circulating this crap about him, he really is well out of here, isn't he? But I do fear for this club if this is the way we treat people, very demoralising.

How do you know it's crap? It wasn't a case of me being told 'pssst, post this on NSC, it'll f**k MM up'. I've 'known' this for a couple of weeks but never had any intention of posting but after reading the 'holier than thou bollocks' that you write, I just couldn't resist.
For the record, she was a looker. :) secondly the person who told me doesn't have a axe to grind, if I thought they did then I wouldn't have posted. Any way this isn't any different from you insinuating that MM was dumped because the Blooms are FDM best mates ... remembr that.

Is it not possible that MM had lunch with the young Lady AFTER training? (which runs from 10 am until 12 noon?)

As for DK and the "truth" he is a master of PR and I wouldn't put it past him to put his own spin on any story to keep himself in a good light.

At what point did MM lose the dressing room?

That signature about Wilkins is a tad harsh. At least people generally waited a couple of years before anti McGhee things appeared in their signatures, not 8 or so games.

My signature is as much about Dick Knight's dealings as it is about Wilkins and time will tell. It is also current rather than harking back to days past.

But it is hardly getting behind the man is it. McGhee was given a chance so surely Wilkins deserves that.

Bad news about your club sacking their manager after giving him a 4 year deal.

MY club signed their caretaker manager till the end of the season after three straight defeats
