Exactly this sort of reraking by Albion fans of all of the stale old turds lieing at the bottom of the fishtank is EXACTLY the sort of reaction Naylor will have been hoping for.

Far easier and, of course, so much more constructive than writing something about Dean and the boys and tomorrow's game...

Bit of a crap thread, all about nothing that's worthwhile or relevant to tomorrow and the rest of the season, or even last week's win really. Nice one Andy.

I know it was after McGhee had gone, that's the point I'm making. Has Wilkins lost the fans because of the mass walkout at the Blackpool game? I say no, but people use exactly the same evidence to say yes for McGhee re. Crewe. Blatant double standards.

Well to do there have been no cries of Wilkins out etc and minimal slagging off behind the dug out.

I don't think a walk out at the end of a shit game is ever an indication that a manager has lost the fans, just that it was a shit match and lets get home and have a beer.

Fans not coming in the first place would be a better indicator.

I think the club has lost the fans and that is due to high prices tallied with inept performances, the feeling that 'we' are not getting value for money.

It seems that all this transparency we crave for leads to problems. I would be more inclined to hear official statements, rather than little snippets here and there, built into a full blown article.

No doubt this will be the focus of the phone in - just when things were starting to settle down a bit. Well done, Naylor!

I didn't walk out of the Crewe game simply because I had a cracking hangover from the jaunt to Lords and was perfectly comfortable in my seat. :D (Not that I ever walk out early anyway  )

Which means Steve will use the answer that the home attendances for the first 2 games of this season were higher than for the first 2 games of the 2003/04 season after we had been relegated then. Not taking into account we have more seats now, more variable pricing and more forms of ordering available.

But then if you read Naylors view of Bristol he says hardly any were abusing McGhee at the end, where as where I was standing there were rather a lot.

Where you were standing there has always been a lot, for about the last 18 months or so.

Standing in the way of control
Stop your moaning you attention-seeking bellend. You know full well that the board listen to a recording of the phone-in every week. Harty spent half an hour after the Bristol City game appealing to anyone who supported McGhee to ring in - and yes, the phone-in isn't a perfect indicator, but if they were going to find anyone weird enough to have wanted him to carry on it would have happened on there - surprisingly enough, not one person rang in.

Aaargh this is actually more boring than doing work.

If you say so Steve. If you actually bother to ask anyone who goes with me I tended not to bother during the game and voice my frustrations afterwards.

Also at Bristol I was not in the main hub of fans at the end as I was head for the exit to get a cab and it was very clear what people were saying.

I agree all this stuff it terrible for morale and terrible for all for us.

But you say you are journalist, well, if you are, you would know full well that Naylor would not be doing his job if he ignored this. Independent journalists have to report bad news as well as good, and the breakdown of the McGhee-Knight relationship (that appears to be accelerating as a result of Knight's remarks on the phone-in) is news, even though it's a car crash for us.

I've given up arguing with you but to drag up something of marginal interest that happened on a Saturday evening phone in and pass it off as big news with a attention-grabbing headline almost a week later is not "giving us the bad news", is it? It's just a cheap dig. Enough of this meritless and pointless bollocks - I like McGhee as a person too but his time had come.

I think you are thinking as a fan and not a journalist, which is your prerogative and I'm sure most on here will see it your way as we are all sick of this McGhee-Knight stuff. That Dick Knight first agreed an interview and then withdrew it would raise the suspicions of most journalists that there us a story to tell that is not being told.
