Lord Bracknell
On fire
I would hope that EVERY Albion manager works on establishing a good working relationship with local journalists like Naylor. The Clown of Pevensey Bay said:I'm not sure why lots of people on here criticise Naylor for having a good relationship with MM. For crying out loud, Naylor's JOB is to talk to the manager of Brighton (whoever he/she may be) and fill up the Argus with what he/she says.
The problem with McGhee seems to me to be that, by the end, he was putting more effort into cultivating his relationship with Naylor than he was to maintaining a good working relationship with either Dick Knight or the team. Once this became obvious to DK, it was inevitable that MM had to go.
My fear is that, once Naylor manages to get hold of MM (when he returns from "abroad"), there'll be some sort of "devastating statement" that will inflame this row even more.
And some people will just love that.
