Derby interested in Lua Lua

Uwe Rosler also a big admirer of Kaz going by his Sky commentaries, said he should have started the play-off games

I'm really not sure he'd suit you based on the three games I saw between us. Poyet described him as more or less uncoachable because even he doesn't know what he's doing next. Have also heard from a couple of people he was one of the players Oscar barely talked to - Oscar certainly only wanted to use him off the bench. Your game looked all about precision and pace on the break and I think he'd seriously frustrate you.

Besides he's got to stay - he's my son's favourite player!

I call Bullshit on this, if you read the Article its completely generic, which can be pretty much used for any team and any player across the country.

Nothing to see here.

What I noticed from Saturday's friendly is how central Buckley was allowing the full backs to get forward. If this is the way we are going to play I don't really see him or Lua Lua necessarily being in Sami's plans. Still early days tho and I'd hate to lose either of them

If we sell Lua Lua to Derby then that is absolutely ridiculous, they're a rival club, kaz will fit into Sami's counter attacking plans perfectly.

Would they let us have Jamie Ward in return? If so, I'd be ok with it...otherwise...nah.

We have never played this quick game in the last 4 years,... so maybe this playing strategy has stifled him, ie he rarely had support in the box to pass to, hence the turn and wait scenario.

I can see where you're coming from here, but I still think there were plenty of opportunities where Kazenga could have gone it alone -- he's got the pace, strength and skill to wreak havoc at the heart of the defence. I can only think of two occasions over the last two seasons when he's done this: last game of the 2012/13 season for the second goal against Wolves; away against Burnley/Blackburn/? when he narrowly missed.

Exciting, yes. Effective, sometimes. One on one (or even three) he can be excellent at times, but his crossing needs work, he tends to stop when going forward at pace would be better and he also needs to something other than cut inside and shoot at the woodwork. Would definitely prefer him to stay though. Have seen the look of genuine fear in defenders eyes from my close-up WSL seat when he's on the ball sometimes.

He's also good mates with Toko isn't he ?

LuaLua is a game changer. He's unbelievably quick, direct and has a vicious shot.

If he could do all of that AND cross like Beckham, AND defend like Moore - he's be playing for Barcelona, not Brighton. He's a really useful player to have on the books as he terrifies full backs and his introduction can turn a game on its head. Give the kid a break.

Mine too, and he's soon to get Kaz's name and number on the back of his shirt.
(Thanks for the insight about Gus and Kaz: it makes total sense).

Ha! I am about to order a shirt with number 25 for mine but his own name on. Luckily I've already told him it was also Zamora's number and therefore my squad number when I played ex pat football (despite being a chubster centre back in the stiffs).

Gus made the comment at a SoL meeting that the guy I have sat with since the first Withdean season attended. It comes up in conversation about once a fortnight!
